Looks like the PSTV has some serious competition...

I do love the look of it though. I could see myself buying it at the right price if it gets some better stuff on it just for the novelty value.

They already have 1 launch game, 1 being ported and they've been in talk with several studios including AAA studios to use IP's. And yes, it's all about cartridges.

As long as it's <100$ i'd consider buying it. It'd be really cool to have a cartridge of Shovel Knight (if that happens it would be an almost-must-buy for me if at
<110$ with the console).

That equates to about £125. I could be game for that. They're hoping to kickstarter in June. If they can get the likes of Axiom Verge on it it would be a great way of physically owning some great "indie crap".

And the fact that they would support the thing "as long as the technology to connect it to your TV is being used" is a great thing. I thought they also talked with the guys from Pier Solar and the Great Architects.

Well, i read up stuff on the FB page. I will be following this.
I'm hoping for Shovel Knight + the AVGN game + Retro City Rampage bundle at launch. #havehope

Eh, just seems weird. I meen if they wanted to they could already make Shovel Knight for actual classic consoles. Shit look at Pier Solar which was originally a Genesis cartridge game released in 2010 and then ported to basically every modern console and PC.

I doubt sales on this will be enough to really tempt people into developing for it.

But then an old console is just that, an old console, there is no flexability. Porting for this system will be relatively easy. And for devs to just have it as a "me too" way to have their game on cartridge, it's much easier since actual new cartridges will be made.
