Mouse is great for FPS.

My favourite is light gun (similar device to the Wii-mote) though only for certain games -it's great to have a game device where you can move around more.

A gyroscopic mouse would be best for FPS though so you don't need a desk.

Wheel or tilt-yaw motion sensing devices are best for driving or flying games.

I'm sorry, but I believe that even in that game the controller still clasifies as your hands.
