Wow that floor texture is really ugly.  You never get a good angle of it later in the video so you can't tell if its from pop in.  Anyway even if it is they need to get their shit together and fix it before the game launches.

Yes, lets delay a game because of a floor texture, lol.

Who cares at the end of the day. Lol

Who said anything about delaying it?  They've had 5 years to make this game, I said they should release a game that's not flooded with pop ins at release.  If its having problems in this little warehouse cutscene you can bet its way worse in the big environments.

Debatable. That's for another thread. Completely different games with completely different environments/setting.

I doubt you'd find many people who would pick the left side were they asked which looked more graphically impressive (top for ranged geometry, bottom for local. If you have better pics for either feel free to send them to me and i'll edit it).

Opinionated, still debatable. I think XCX stands as more highly artistic. It's really not a say between hardware limitations.

[Bump]

Anyhow, XCX looks extremely interesting no matter how we look at it.

Ewww yeah, the lighting for sure. Character models are still kind of bland, but that's nothing new. Textures look fine to me. As long as the gameplay and framerate are smooth, I'm ok with the downgrade.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

That's why i started my original post with "i assume you mean artistically?". On an artistic level, sure, it's completely debatable. On a graphical (ala technical) level there's really no contest between the two. Nor would anyone expect there to be, all things considered.

I'm not sure if your last sentence is in reference to art or graphics, but if the latter then there is a rather strong correlation between graphics and hardware (hence we get new hardware every few years). There's only so much you can do on a small, $200 - $300 console (gamepad included) running on 33w.

Well that's visuals, not graphics.  If you say that graphics in a technical sense are comparable, then you are objectively wrong.  Visually, how comparable they are is more subjective.  When discussing these sorts of things, making a point of distinguishing between discussing visuals (graphics+art design) and graphics (the technical achievements of a given game)

Hot damn The Witcher 3 makes me horny... XD

So does XCX, but for different reasons; with Monolith's game I love it for the vast alien landscapes, with Witcher it's the vibrant pallette and Tolkein-esque atmosphere.

Obviously Witcher has a clear technical advantage, but they're both absolutely stunning looking games in my eyes.

It's not a downgrade. It's rendered in engine but had less assets back then so over time the game used more assets.

Reminder
Watch dogs is one of the most successful new ips in the last 10 years,y'all bought that shit.
That was a pretty huge downgrade, most games are, not because of target renders, though that is something that happens it's because a lot of companies just straight lie. dead island anyone? Red Steel? Dues EX?

Considering the WiiU's hardware limitations it's really not a debate. Even the PS4 and X1, both a significant power jump over the WiiU, can't run TW3's environments at max (at least not at 900-1080p/30fps).

I disagree about it being a discussion for another thread. Seems like a fairly logical extension from the topic and your comment.

Neither set of pics has an obvious winner for graphics. Resolution, maybe, but not graphics.

By the way, wich version of the wichter are those pics from?
