I think the study is looking at the problem from the wrong direction. It's not "do video games make people sexist?" It's "do video games attract a sexist clientele?"

Not too surprising. I may be wrong but racism is mainly taught from family, peers, friends, and institutions.

Wouldn't that be a virtually useless piece of information? I think the question "do video games make people sexist" is infinitely more useful of a questions (although I think the answer is extremely clear).

Kind of makes the Anti-Defamation Leagues Common Core on Gaming, even more absurd than it already is.

Not necessarily. A survey that disproves the theory that video games cause sexist attitudes might give the impression that there isn't a problem with sexism in the video game community, when there is plainly a problem.

I'm not going to get into a huge debate here, but I think that there is a general problem with anonymity on the internet which is where most of the "sexism" comes from. I think the hubub around sexism within games themselves and within many communities has been overblown and what problems we do have, don't really need to be remedied through academia.

Isn't there sexism in mostly everything though? lol.
