I really doubt. Game of the Year is given by western media.
They usually prefer western style games.
I think witcher 3 has a better chance.




One thing I really hate was that Bayonetta 2 didnt win GOTY last year or even THE BEST ACTION GAME.

I say: DAI was good, since western media prefer western games, it is understandable to give GOTY to DAI.
BUT how did they give the BEST ACTION GAME to Middle Earth????? Not Bayonetta 2??????

It's obvious why. It's because Halo and MGS are both established and popular franchises. GOTY is not just crowning the best game, but also a popularity contest. It's same reason why games like XCX and Persona 5 don't really have a chance either. Could Splatoon win it? Maybe. Does it have a good chance? I doubt it.

Really? Because what if it gets a 92-93, that means it'll be in the run for GoTY. Not many games hit over 90+. Every 90+ game was practically a contender last year.

Dragon Age Inquisition was multiplatform and was defintely more mainstream than some of its competition like Bayonetta 2. I'm not trying to say that the best selling games get a better chance at GOTY, but niche games like XCX, P5, maybe Splatoon(?) have a hard time beating the more accessible, mainstream games.
