Meh whatever Nintendo isn't the only company.

90% of music on Youtube now gets third party warnings and some artists block the video playing in a lot of countries or force delete the video.

Some games on PS4 when you use the share button save a video without audio because of copyright. Don't see many people complaining about that.

Youtube is changing every company wants a piece of the pie.

"Meh whatever Nintendo isnt the only company"

That kind of mindset is exactly why Nintendo is where they are right now. Nintendo needs to be called out on BS just like Sony and Microsoft are.

At 52m 3DS...:P

Im not talking about sales. Im talking about the anti gamer image they are starting to form

Ah sorry then,I misunderstood,i thought that you are one of the guys who talk about nintendo negatively by taking into account only wii u sales, ignoring 3ds existence! And it irritates me!Forgive me!:P

I'm just gonna be a dick and say it, any chance for a TL:DR on this video? I am interested in this topic but not 25 minutes interested.

No problem!

Nintedo are greedy douches and anti-gamers for their youtube policy, but angry joe should have known better. Complaining about nintendo policy, then going ahead and making a nintendo video knowing fully what will happen and then going on to bitch about it after the fact was douche move on his behalf.

I'd have to call that obvious. He was clearly putting up a video review so that he could bait Nintendo into reacting and then get a chance to whinge about it.

Meh, just the standard "I have to say this policy is foolish, but in the same breath say we need to all just go along with it" vid that some Nintendo fans are putting out recently. They're just hurting Nintendo in the long run and helping them remain in their pre-Youtube thinking.

They should be embracing Youtube as the free advertising it is, like every other game company has. Hell, if you have a worse policy than EA, you know something is seriously wrong. And it will be part of their undoing next gen if it continues.

I'd still like to see some proof that this has market impact beyond forum-goers getting another chance to bitch about Nintendo.

ohh this again xD Nintendo has every right to do this. i dont get why is he complaining. Its nintendo's decision, its their license, its their rights as a company to do this, but still here you are discussing about it like you know sooo much about it. Joe is not relevant for nintendo. People say nintendo is greedy, How are they greedy? someone tell me why nintendo is greedy and it better be a good answer

Well I could try to really stretch it with a theory that I just made up:

YouTube let's plays and gaming videos are a huge medium for the youngest generation. This policy could result in less coverage of Nintendo games by both large and small channels; meaning less interest from youngest generation. Small Nintendo channels may shift to other platforms to replace or coincide with their Nintendo content and/or disappear all together (which I have seen), resulting in less content. Large channels may choose to not show any Nintendo content to receive maximum revenue. Influential YouTubers like PewDiePie who speak out against the policy could influence young children into developing a disinterest in Nintendo (it's a stretch but extreme fans could be influenced by PDP's views). Future YouTubers may decide not to show Nintendo content since they will receive >10% of ad revenue for those videos. All of the above prevents Nintendo from having as big of an impact they could have on the developing generation.

That's all I got lol. I have no direct evidence whether or not the younger generation is less interested in Nintendo than older folks were when growing up. I feel like Nintendo will always have an in to the youngest generation with handhelds though.

I could see it being more a thing where Let's Plays can have a substantial impact on niche titles (hidden gems and the like), but this is unlikely to be of real value to anyone other than indies.

The world of youtube is changing. These people making videos are going to have to evolve with that. Many big companies are starting to take youtube seriously and realize that some people are making millions from it. They are going to want a piece of that pie since these people would not have videos without these companies content and IP's.
It's not just Nintendo, many labels and production companies are looking into this stuff, other game companies as well like MS, Capcom, Activision ect.
Remember napster? Not that different. Nothing is free.

Dusk- Companies are doing the oposite of Nintnendo because they understand the vale they revieve in PR, marketing etc-

Most You tubers and consumer related companies are FAR a head of Nintendo -  you just have it backwards- Its nintendo that needs t change and catch up

Companies PAY you tubers directly all the time to dscuss/review/use their products-   t is not new either

Yea we still have no proven evidence of how YouTube affects the market; just theories. Would CoD be as popular as it is now without the tremendous influx of YouTube gameplay (FaZe/Ali-A/Tmartn etc)? I don't know whether YouTube coverage affects game sales, or game sales affect YouTube coverage for larger games like that. But for smaller titles, YouTube coverage definitely equates to sales.

I think it is more a combination of ignorance, obstinance and arrogance on Nintendo s part than it is greed  (add control too)

They are milking the heck out of therir rapidly shrinking customer base/market share but that might be considered short temr thinking more so than greed
