Even Captain Toad got 81% lol.

All previews have been super optimistic.

Mario Kart 8 got 88% despite having a terrible battle mode (and only 2 modes in total).

Captain Toad is amazing. :P

In all seriousness though, I hope you're right, I can just see the game taking a hit in reviews and this impacting sales negatively. I don't want Nintendo to be discouraged from trying new IPs.

I think they're saving up some modes for a Splatoon direct anyway. Previews praised the single player campaign even, comparing it to Galaxy.

I don't care for the voice chat, but it's a shame that we can't play splitscreen online multiplayer like in Mario Kart 8 (with one extra friend).

This game also looks gorgeous.

No clue, but I'm leaning towards no.

but Spemanig you're also always someone who is 95% negative. (you, curl and a splash of rol make up the perfect trio). I'd say you're a realist but I think you're more of a pessimist and when it comes to nintendo I honestly do think that is the best approach.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for, that like the recently revealed Splat Zones and battle Dojo, they have other modes saved up for surprises.

I don't care about voice chat either, in fact I find it an actively negative feature, but many don't share my views. And yeah, splitscreen online would have been nice, but it may have been hard to maintain a 60fps baseline with so much going on.

naaaaaah it's just hyped here because people don't really have that many games to talk about

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Don't forget Pavolink, Tachikoma, and Soundwave. :p

By our powers combined, we are the Nexus of Negativity!

I don't think I'm pessimistic at all. In fact, I think I can be too optimistic a lot of the time, but just look at what we know about Splatoon from a marketing perspective. Nobody knows or cares about this game outside of Nintendo's core fanbase. Who's talking about it out side of gaming websites? I'm expecting Bayo 2-like sales. Amiibos are cool, but they don't sell games. Especially not a new IP that hasn't proven itself yet on a failed console.

It's not a big May game for the mass market, and I don't think Nintendo fans will be enough to push this one over that mark. At least, not anytime soon.

I fucking hope so, if it doesn't then I doubt it will receive a sequel and I will have no hope left in Nintendo's future with new IPs.
This is the game that we need to support, its the young guys being given a chance to head up a retail title on a new IP, its the future of Nintendo.

No it won't get 1 million.

Yes it will, but to do so, it must be hyped properly.
