Not really Mario Kart 8 will sell over 10 million copies by the time its out of print and since the Wii U will probably not sell more then 20 million it will also be the game with the highest attachment rate out of any console that wasn't massively bundled.  Well I think it already has that title since its closing in on 50 percent attachment rate.

The Wii U isn't going to reach 20 million in its lifetime. It's going to sell worse than the GC (as I told everyone it would without third party). As for Mario Kart, the primary platform for it is the DS and even though the Wii is noted it was an anomaly in terms of audience that will not return until another fad occurs. When looking for sales that can be duplicated. The Playstation platform has a better chance than anyone this gen of reclaiming Europe with GT.

Well nothing on the X1 or PS4 will come even close to the same attachment ratio that Mario Kart 8 will have by the time its out of print and the WiiU is no longer in production.  Also I highly doubt that GT7 will be a huge sales success a ton of people got turned of from the franchise with both GT5 and GT6.

Im not going to argue with that. Mario Kart will sell very well and have my sales as well for its installed base percentage. The PS4 will gain more gamers for GT this gen through early penetration of the avid European audience awaiting a fresh racer installment. Polyphony needs to make amends for GT6 and they know it. Perhaps they should tone down the cars list by two hundred and start to implement DLC packs instead of having everything in one. Sony sold over 14 million copies between Prologue and GT5. This means one thing...a prologue would hype people up for a full installment. Polyphony dropped the ball and they have the audience now to reclaim Europe as I said before.

The don't really have to reclaim Europe GT has alway been the most popular sim racing game over there the only place in Europe where Forza is popular is the UK and that is probably partially due to having Silverstone Circuit in the game and always having a pretty good list of UK and European cars.

True, but Sony lost a massive amount of European buyers from GT5 to GT6. Thats very important.

Well GT6 was and is completely skipable unless you are a pretty huge fan of the franchise same thing applies to Forza 5 since it lacks so much content.

GT6 had no issue with content. It's primary issue was the quality of a portion of the car standard content vs premium content which looked very good. It could've stood to launch in the new gen with fixes. Sony needs to drop the development time down to four years.

The lack of content is in reference to Forza 5.  GT6 also lacks some content compared to GT5 since it no longer has any endurance races and the B spec mode that got included via an update is completely different from the one in GT5.

Thats to be expected, GT5 got more love from Polyphony for sure. As we'ved agreed upon though, GT7 needs to make up for the ills of GT6.

Franchise fatigue. It hits the best of them. Just look at the reasons why MLB The Show is getting 70's and 80's, even though it is being called a very good game.

"Failure to innovate".

Not every franchise can add weather and have everyone be like "OMG, innovation in the series", even though it is only because they are basically the last to do so.

Hmm fair enough, I imagine series fatigue will eventually hit Forza. Hopefully soon so it forces MS to let Turn 10 do something else. (would still be a racing game most likely since that's all they know.

Nope, Turn 10 will never do something else besides Forza the company is full of car guys they pretty much don't know what to do besides racing sims.  Also PD will never again do something different besides GT since Tourist Trophy didn't turn out too good which is kinda a shame since a sim racer with both motorcyles and cars would have been great and the original plan for GT5 was for it to also have motorcyles.

Wouldn't expect too much since they already said it will still have standard cars which is the biggest gripe most people had with both GT5 and GT6.  Well at least they will fix the sound which is like one game too late since the sound overhaul should have been done and was promised for GT6.  Which is kinda typical for PD since online play was first promised for GT4 but didn't make it into the final game.

Standard cars wasn't the problem...but rather the quality of the models was shit compared to the premium cars. That was the issue. If the Standard cars are given the same generational love that the premium cars get Forza wont be able to say much.
