Everyone has a backlog, but it's more interesting to play games that are new, which can't happen if there are none.

Q1+Q2 Wii U lineup

Kirby+Mario Party+Splatoon+a bunch of eShop/VC titles.

Q1+Q2 3DS lineup

Majora's Mask+STEAM+Fossil Fighters+Xenoblade+PDZ/Mario+a few niche Japanese games+a few licensed kids games+a bunch of eShop/VC titles.

Neither one has an amazing lineup, although 3DS is quite a bit better, but when u combine the 2 devices then ur looking at a pretty consistant and quality release schedule.

You forget "Affordable Space Adventures", It´s probably one of the most interesting indie games this year. And is a WiiU exclusive, coming next week.

And there´s a ton of other games coming on the eshop too.

Wii U has Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem (coming out in winter in Japan) Devil's Third, Fatal Frame V, Rodea The Sky Soldier, LEGO Jurassic Park, Project CARS, Legend of Kay, Star Fox U, Mario Maker. Most of them are coming out in the second half of the year. Also don't forget about titles that aren't announced yet. The lineup for the second half of the year for Wii U is always good, and this year is no different.

Indies get overlooked all the time. It's really as if they wouldn't exist when it comes to released games on any console or PC.

For someone like me who likes games which are different to the mainstream, the Wii U didn't even really have a drought. I bought over a dozen Indie titles in the last year on my Wii U, compared to 4 mainstream titles. Really, very few things in the mainstream market of today really gets my interest.

For comparision's sake, my list of games on GOG is over 6 times longer than the one on steam (I buy most Indies *inserts Iwatas now-iconic move* directly on the developer's Webpages, which is often DRM free, too).

Not fantastic, but better than nothing. I'm super excited for XC3D and MK8 DLC especially.

I'm personally very excited to try out MK8's 200cc mode, but I wouldn't say that April is a good month! There have been worse months, but that's not saying much.
