And I've watched plenty.
Still a pretty lousy excuse, though.

I don't think we can determine that yet. Fire Emblem doesn't really have an "inside battle." Directing units on a top-down map is Fire Emblem's battle system, and we saw nothing of the sort here. Choosing attacks in menus is SMT/Persona's battle system, and we saw nothing of the sort here. All we saw are character models attacking each other, which might even simply be part of a cutscene (although it looks like the cutscenes are mostly pre-rendered anime stuff). |
I can tell some of them were in battle as they had the FE style health bar on some of the enemies, not a very good screen but I took this of the stream.
This gives us a rough idea of what to expect.

Nope. I hate those over the top animes, I love the ones that don't go over a certain treshold (Rurouni Kenshin is something I love, till the Shishio arc anyway).
But Sailor Moon or Naruto (in the later arcs)? No thanks.

Very interesting. The character portraits on the side make it look more like a party system like Persona/SMT than like Fire Emblem. However, I also noticed this shot which looks more like Fire Emblem!

Maybe the battle system is like SMT/Persona, but after choosing your attack the animation plays out like in Fire Emblem??

SMTxFE is now called Illusory Revelations#FE and has a Japanese release date of Winter 2015.

I know Nintendo is bad at naming games, but this is a whole new level of bad. Hashtag? Lol.

They've changed the name to Illusory Revelations#FE as well, I think this was to distance the game from SMT's approach and have more freedom to do what they want with the game, it's essentially a new IP now.

Not Nintendo who named it.

Oh wow. Oh wooowww. Please don't judge anime by crap like that. That's like saying you don't like American animation because of, like, old Transformers and G.I. Joe cartoons, while ignoring, y'know, Disney and Pixar.
For the love of all that is holy please watch Cowboy Bebop. Then try the Persona 4 anime on for size so you can have an idea of what to expect from this game.

ANYTHING about it look "acceptable" to you?
Up to your standards?
