It looks absolutely nothing like Fire Emblem. You know, it doesn't even look like what I would have expected if it had just been announced as Shin Megami Tensei V. It basically looks like a new IP, because Persona doesn't have a rocket pegasus.

Seriously, a rocket pegasus. How can anyone sneer at this game? It looks freaking awesome. Who cares whether it's Fire Emblem or not?

Having watch the trailer again I can actually notice the FE elements now.

The characters seem to actually changed into FE variants of themselves, and the battle system seems to retain some turn based elements if you're paying attention to the battle segments.

The Intelligent Systems logo was not shown in the new trailer. Only Nintendo and Atlus. I recall them saying it was mostly being made by Atlus at some point, but I could be mistaken.

Your attitude is ridiculous. The Persona series is very highly rated. Persona 4 Golden is one of the most-praised RPGs of the generation. We don't know anything about this game other than that it looks vaguely like Persona, which is absolutely not a bad thing. Your disappointment that it isn't just a Fire Emblem game is not cause to immediately dismiss the game as bad.

My guess is that people are feeling slated as they did announce it as a FE, SMT crossover. I hope they distance themselves from that, as to me it looks rebranded. When they first showed it, I didn't even know what I was looking at. However, one could argue that since we didn't see anything before, it's hard to critisize the look since there was no prior footage.

Edit: There was so little known about this game, so much so, that I think it's difficult to judge them on the past reveal since much was in our heads as to what it was going to look like... I hope I'm making sense. 

Isn't Persona turn-based anyway? I know SMT is.

I can't really see the actual battle gameplay, though. Sort of just looks like the battle animations like in FE Awakening.

My disappointment stems from the fact that this is false advertising.

I think you're onto something. Also I would like to add that all of the battles seem to be taken in some type of arena with crowds cheering. Hm...
