Forums - Nintendo - Zelda Delay? Good. Time For Wii U Owners To STEP UP And Support Other IP

I said this in another thread, but I think it's pertinent. Enough of the complaining over Zelda.

Time for the 9-10 million Wii U owners to STEP UP and actually give other games a chance. Enough with the "there's nothing to play". Bullshit.

There's plenty to play if you're willing to play something without Mario/Zelda-Hyrule/Smash in it the title.

Bayonetta 2 is phenonmonal and it's two games for the price of one that most Nintendo fans have never played. Try it.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze criminally was overlooked a year ago, it plays great and has one of the great soundtracks in Nintendo history. Did you give this an honest chance? Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3 are just sitting on the eShop waiting to be discovered. Captain Toad deserved better.

Even third parties, Rayman Legends and Zombi U are very good games. You can find them at virtually any Best Buy for like $20. $20! Man, c'mon. COD: BLOPS2/Ghosts, Assassin's Creed IV, Batman: Arkham City, Tekken Tag 2 ... honestly there's nothing wrong with any of these games. They look and play great on the Wii U. And they're prety much better than 98% of the crap third party stuff on the Wii.

Zelda delay? GOOD. Now maybe, just maybe games like Splatoon, Xenoblade X, and STAR FOX can get some shine and not be ignored in the way Bayonetta 2, Captain Toad, and DKC: TF were. Pissed that you have to wait an extra year for Zelda? Try waiting 20 YEARS for a new proper Star Fox and get back to me.

Take away the nostalgia glasses and Xenoblade on Wii was better than the last two console Zeldas too. Yet maybe like 800k people on the Wii bothered to play it on a userbase of 100 million? For shame.

Bayonetta 2: Got it.
DKC:TF: Got it.
Wonderful 101: Got it.
Pikmin 3: Got it.
Captain Toad: Got it.
Rayman Legends: Got it (albeit, not for Wii U - same with Arkham City and BLOPS 2)
ZombiU: Got it.
I definitely plan on getting Splatoon, XCX and Star Fox as well.
The rest of the games listed I either don't care about or might pick up sometime down the line. There are several games coming up that I would rather spend my money on at the moment.

I appreciate the sentiment of the thread but ultimately, you can't force people to buy games just because they exist and they're good. Not everyone has the same tastes. There are plenty of games on every platform that don't sell as well as they should, and that's just the business. It sucks, but it's true.

That's a fine way to look at the situation...
Those who didn't anticipate this delay have only themselves to blame...
And I definitely agree regarding Tropical Freeze...
It's probably my game of 2014...

Have a nice day...

It not time for Wii U owners to do anything. We're the consumers; Nintendo's the servant. It's their job to sell the product. It's not our job to buy shit.

I likely would have worded it myself a little more differently, but I got the games you listed, aside from the 3rd party ones. I do plan on getting Zombi U and Rayman U at some point in time.

The games listed for this year I will likely get, if not all of them. I am bummed for Zelda being delayed, but I there are other games this year I am excited for.

I have all those games. (except the multiplats, but I bought Rayman Legends time ago on my PC)

I would say that Hyrule Warriors is a fantastic game too. Very addictive.

And some people told me that Lego City Undercover is actually very good.

I will buy Splatoon, Xenoblade, Star Fox and Yoshi on day one. (And probably Devil´s third and Mario Maker too)

I´m happy with this year, I´m very excited about those games, and I want to see Splatoon and Xenoblade selling a ton. Now that there´s no Zelda, they have a better chance.

I think you're preaching to the choir here, Soundwave.

You're preaching to people that don't exist. We each buy what we want to buy and nothing more. If the games aren't being bought, there aren't enough people that want them.

This whole "fan loyalty" thing is complete and utter bullshit. If we don't think a game looks interesting enough to buy that's our own damn business and there's nothing wrong with that.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

I own Tropical Freeze, Bayonetta 2, Bayonetta 1, Rayman Legends, ZombiU, Arkham City, COD Black Ops 2, COD Ghosts, Need for Speed Most Wanted U, Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed, Captain Toad, Art of Balance, Nano Assault Neo, The Swapper, Trine 2, and Splinter Cell Blacklist on Wii U. I also plan to buy Splatoon and Xenoblade Chronicles X day one.

I do agree though that far too many Wii U games didn't get the sales they deserved.

I have either already bought these games, plan to buy them or I just don't really care enough for them.
