Forums - Nintendo - Zelda Delay? Good. Time For Wii U Owners To STEP UP And Support Other IP

I only buy things with Mario or Zelda in the title.

Hm, I'm more interested in DK now. But I'm probably going to get my platformer fix from Mario Maker so I'll probably wait a bit longer xD

Maybe this delay will get me to pick up Hyrule Warriors. Hadn't really given that much thought. But I also think that something pretty exciting is going to be in store for us for the holiday. Maybe they're making room for an Amiibo title of epic proportions. It would probably do better to capture new gamers and would give an identity to what is currently mostly a collectible figurine with minor functionality.

i already have bayo, pikmin, and w101. I wont pay more than 20$ for dk:tf, and captain toad is more of a distraction than a game. Felt the same way about kirby. With the announcement of no voice support for splatoon i cancelled my pre-order. I'll get it eventually, but i probably wont pay full price. I'm not crazy-bummed about zelda, i just wish they would have waited on giving a release date if they hadn't really dug into the exploration yet.I mean, there's no way i would have had time for zelda AND xenoblade chronicles. And really it's fine; batman and mortal kombat will hold me over till devils third in what i presume will be september.

there are a lot of games I want to buy but I don't really have much time or energy to put on what's out there now. I haven't played anything since... I honestly don't know what game I played last time.

I want Bayonetta, Captain Toad and I'm still not sure I want Hyrule Warriors and I'm not at all into SSB

I already have Splatoon and XCX preordered so those are covered

I won't buy games just to support someone unless it is pretty cheap

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Actually, we don't need to do anything. Nintendo is the one running the show here, we do whatever they evoke us to do. I doubt people are gonna step up and buy Kirby Rainbow Curse or Yoshi over a full blown HD Zelda...ugh...it's making me sick just thinking about the delay...can we talk about something else like Unicorns or something...wait unicorns remind me of epona....I'm helpless.

Yup. Preaching. Choir. Heck I'm so desperate for a new WiiU game that I'm actually playing Watch_Dogs on it! No seriously, you make a valid point. There's a lot of great games on the U that tend to be ignored. Tropical Freeze is one of my favourite platformers of the last 5 years. Together with Shovel Knight, which everybody should also play... If they haven't yet!

I said this in another thread, but I think it's pertinent. Enough of the complaining over Zelda.

Time for the 9-10 million Wii U owners to STEP UP and actually give other games a chance. Enough with the "there's nothing to play". Bullshit. -

There's plenty to play if you're willing to play something without Mario/Zelda-Hyrule/Smash in it the title.

Bayonetta 2 is phenonmonal and it's two games for the price of one that most Nintendo fans have never played. Try it.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze criminally was overlooked a year ago, it plays great and has one of the great soundtracks in Nintendo history. Did you give this an honest chance? Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3 are just sitting on the eShop waiting to be discovered. Captain Toad deserved better.

Even third parties, Rayman Legends and Zombi U are very good games. You can find them at virtually any Best Buy for like $20. $20! Man, c'mon. COD: BLOPS2/Ghosts, Assassin's Creed IV, Batman: Arkham City, Tekken Tag 2 ... honestly there's nothing wrong with any of these games. They look and play great on the Wii U. And they're prety much better than 98% of the crap third party stuff on the Wii.

Zelda delay? GOOD. Now maybe, just maybe games like Splatoon, Xenoblade X, and STAR FOX can get some shine and not be ignored in the way Bayonetta 2, Captain Toad, and DKC: TF were. Pissed that you have to wait an extra year for Zelda? Try waiting 20 YEARS for a new proper Star Fox and get back to me.

Take away the nostalgia glasses and Xenoblade on Wii was better than the last two console Zeldas too. Yet maybe like 800k people on the Wii bothered to play it on a userbase of 100 million? For shame.

I suspect that not too many of the people you are talking to are on this site. I have all those games except Zombie U which didn't grab me and Tekken which I've never liked. Also the WiiU owners on this site can hardly be held accountable for sales on the Wii :P

We are in agreement about the Zelda delay thogh, it seems like most of these people weren't around for any other Zelda releases, they always (?) get delayed.  People need to put on their big boy pants and move on!

Having said that, Nintendo could now do with at least one more big title before year's end, or several smaller titles.  It will be disappointing if there is nothing new to see at E3. While I look forward to Splatoon, Xenoblade and StarFox (especially), none of these are going to help the WiiU to great holiday sales, if such a game even exists.

right message WRONG place

OBJECTION:

Wind-Waker > Xenoblade = Majoras Mask > Ocarina of Time > Skyward Sword > Twilight Princess

For me, atleast.
