Lol, It was only a friendly joke. I like Cone.

No need to be rude man.

Sarcasm fail....

English is not my first language, so I would suggest you to be a little more clear about what you want to say. If not, dont quote me.

Edit: Ok I think I get it now, sorry XD

What? Are they really doing bad enough to question whether they'll keep on going?

No, not this year. They still have a couple of years to complete a full transition to PC gaming. This year they released Halo on PC, Fable has moved onto PC as well, Halo 5 has already been in development fir XOne so they are stuck with it, but it will probably be ported to PC next year. Gears of War 4 will probably be simultaneously launched on both XOne and PC, and that will be their last XOne game.
I expect Halo to become a PC only game in 2017, which is the year XOne will be discontinued (it might get pulled from Japan and mainland Europe by the end of 2016 already, as the sales there are dead for a while now).

Dude, just drop it.

So, you think that all that is impossible?

So many people were 110% certain that Halo is never going to PC, but, look, Halo is now on PC.

Microsoft themselves said that they will release many of their big franchises on PC going forward, Gears seems like a great candidate for strengthening their PC version of XBL.

Company spent $2.5 billion on one game, Minecraft, while openly saying it has nothing to do with consoles, it was a clear move to give life to their faltering mobile and tablet marketshare.

XBox managed to lose a clear first place in its home market, while lising a significant portion if its market share altogether. Very few companies (if any) continue to invest in markets which show no promise of growth, and trying to stay relevant in the console business will just keep costing them more and more while showing nothing in return. They tried to sell a $500 cable box to consumers, at the time when the competition is selling it for $40. They shut down their TV side of the business which was supposed to be one of the cornerstones of XOne ecosystem.

Everything that they have done so far simply shows lack of confidence and committment to the XOne. Maybe my prediction is incorrect, but Microsoft has so far shown nothing for anyone to be 100% confident in XOne remaining alive in the upcoming years.

More hopes and dreams

they'll always have the best holiday lineup because they don't release stuff the rest of the year

Which is why asking if they should "throw in the towel" during months they don't put much effort is unnecesary.

oh I agree on that they aren't stopping this gen.  That would ruin consumer faith in investing in another console which is why Nintendo will be sticking it out too for a couple more years.  You can't be the company that no one wants to buy from because you abandon the investment after 4 years or less.  I guess with Xbox 1 (the first one) they had nothing to lose but now they have an established base they need to keep from jumping ship

I am Iron Man

Why should they give up if sales are showing growth YOY? It would have been like if they threw in the towel last gen when the Wii crusched all opposition. The most important part is that they are making a profit and with their new strategy of merging the PC and console space, they are rather expanding the XBox platform right now.

Do you happen to be friends with Robert Weinland by any chance?

#1 Amb-ass-ador

Transition to games as a service. Xbox hardware ends with x1, and who knows, maybe that will weirdly put MS way ahead of their competition in the gen9 era. X1 might end up streaming 9th gen games next to pcs tablets and tvs.

Judging by their launch lineup for the rest of 2015, definitely not.
