People are blowing the NX out of proportion. It was simply a confirmation from Nintendo that they are indeed working on actual video game hardware (which was necessary after their mobile announcement).
We all know Sony and Microsoft are working on their next gen machines as well. It's really no different. I don't expect Nintendo to abandon the Wii U ship until 2017 at the very earliest.

Yes but Sony has a ten year plan and Microsoft copied theirs to keep in competition. It gives a larger amount of gamers room to enjoy the consoles and recoup funds while companies profit. Iwata has already admitted that many people see the Wii U as a secondary console. They need to get in good with third party or else. I am very confused with their movement thus far. What frustrates me is that I want to invest in them. I am trying.

Someone doesn't actually follow *current* sales. Kirby has been slow but steady, trending in Amazon's top 100 for a month after launch and still drifts in and out. So it's not tanking. And Mario Party has been high on those charts since over a week before launch, it's selling exactly like a Mario Party title usually does, which is a solid performance.

Until I hear a confirmation that NX is their next handheld and isn't supposed to substitute the Wii U, I won't feel good about the Wii U. So far its future seems very, very dim and despite some awesome games that are coming, has the most question marks above it. Its future is less clear than Vita's :-/
It's obvious other companies work on their next consoles, but there is a reason why Sony and MS aren't talking about it, aren't dropping names of their future consoles, etc. It's not like Nintendo did this in best years of Wii either.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

They've always revealed some things early, and some things late. There's always a few big surprises, like LBW, DKC:TF, or Majora's Mask 3D. To think that won't be true this year, especially after Iwata explicitly said there were unannounced games for 2015 last month, is just bizarre. |

I would love it if it was Metroid. I do hope they dont delay Xenoblade X just to have a christmas title...
