Forums - Gaming - Let's develop a new open world structure for Zelda Wii U!

Female Link Protaganist. You have to travel the land acquiring gifts for yo' lady zelda and performing any tasks she may give you. Though taking said gifts away from there resting places negatively affects the surrounding world. Thus you have to make a moral decision on whether you are willing to harm the world and inhabitants of said world that are surrounding each gift for the chance to get in the Princesses pants.

If the gift is surrounded by filthy gorons maybe you go for it, but then the mountain gods get angry and burn the goron village to the ground. Then another gift might be next to a orphanage ran by a kindly old grandma... maybe taking that gift is too much!

I'd buy it.

How far are you willing to go for some hot elf on elf action, what price are you willing to pay, how many lives will you destroy.

I say female link, but male should be an option. personally though.... I mean.... lesbian elfs.

Well I don't really want it being tied to quests but rather be random surprises where if you wonder around and explore, a random huge ass monster appears. Of course, not so random that where you have nothing to kill the bosses with but as you get more and more weapons, I want more and more large monsters to appear! And of course, there should always be a way to escape them in case you don't want to fight or have them only appear like that at Night

Of course... I am using "quest" in the context of "activity" like I (somewhat) explained in my other post.

Anyways, from what we saw and heard from the reveal "trailer", it sounds like a very similar system will be in the game ^.^

I can only hope Zelda U works like windwaker. Your typical, follow the waypoints, openworld games do not appeal to me these days, which is a big reason my opinion of games tends to jar with many reviews.

Good Zelda games are great when it comes to exploration, typical open world games let you think they're going to be good for exploration because of the large environments but they turn out to have boring, repetitive exploration with little point in actually bothering.

Yeaa! Hopefully, it will turn out to be the best zelda yet!

How come I feel like the inspiration for this thread is just Xenoblade Chronicles X? I think the idea has merit, but I really feel it is just a response to the ideas presented in that game. I think we shouldn't knock Zelda WiiU until it comes out. So far the concept that they've pitched to us sounds intriguing. I, too, hate fetch quests and x's on maps that I need to travel to. I hate hand holding of any kind. What I'd really like to see is the potential for sequence breaks. It seems that Aunoma is taking a Mega Man approach to this title where you can fight the bosses in any order, but certain weapons will do better against certain enemies, areas, bosses. I like the freedom that suggests. I would especially like it if the game rewarded you for skills, as opposed to just abilities. If mastering a weapon's abilities can be used to get you to a place that a novice couldn't achieve with the same weapon or ability, then they've made gold. Tie in to this idea of a timer like the Metroid series offers and you have speed run heaven.

I hope its a massive open world with online multiplayer where we all have our little base and can work from it with our individual, unique characters. SO once the story mode is done, the game keeps on giving.

I just want them to return to the Zelda NES formula(not 2). I loved stumbling upon things rather than being told where to go and how to progress through the game. I don't think the open world should be limiting. The dungeions should be vast but not empty. A lot of the Zelda U footage looks kinda barren. It kinda hurt me a bit. I just hope they show some good sword swinging action and more enemies in the E3 reveal. Overall, the open world structure will be dictated by the story, or whatever "story" they have planned.

As long as the open world isn't empty and there is stuff to do in that open world, then that would be great!

I think it's obvious from the gameplay and details shared that it will be almost exactly like Wind Waker. Before they changed it to TP, Aonuma was originally making a game called Wind Waker 2, where it was supposed to be WW on land. This is obviously that game.
