I can only hope Zelda U works like windwaker. Your typical, follow the waypoints, openworld games do not appeal to me these days, which is a big reason my opinion of games tends to jar with many reviews.
Good Zelda games are great when it comes to exploration, typical open world games let you think they're going to be good for exploration because of the large environments but they turn out to have boring, repetitive exploration with little point in actually bothering.
