Forums - Sony - On Vita, has Golden Abyss been topped graphically?

Has it been topped?

Yes 38 56.72%

No 29 43.28%

Yeah, it's pretty fucking beautiful. Too bad there aren't more games that look like that on the Vita. If I'm being honest, aside from the resolution, that looks better than some last gen games.

How are Capcom using the extra power of New 3DS?

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has improved textures and loading times on N3DS. Hell, this thread is about graphics to begin with, so those improved textures are pretty relevant.

Killzone beat it easily and will likely never be topped. Golden Abyss was really hurt by not being native res too the point I'd say it almost doesn't look great anymore. Other than Killzone I'd say that games like Wipeout 2048, Tearaway and even Toukiden have surpassed it graphically.

Wow, I actually had no idea, thanks for the heads up! Very interesting.

Yeah, I think Golden Abyss actually looks better than Mercenaries. Not sure if it's because I prefer its art style or what, but yeah. They both look great.

Sure thing. It seems like the biggest difference is in the shadows. They're pixelated-looking on original 3DS but a bit smoother on New models. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any good comparison pics, but the difference is visible in this one:

I couldn't believe how good Killzone Mercenary looked. Though Uncharted was impressive too, I go with Killzone.

But these two are surely the best looking on Vita.

looks like the differences between resi evil revalations on the 3ds and the X360. That is a pretty big difference tbh since the jagged ones kinda take you out of the immersion in a game I find at times.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Best graphic: Killzone Mercenary
Best looking game: Tearaway

You can trust me, I am a Dr.Vita!

I also agree with many others that Tearaway is probably one of, if not, the best looking game on the Vita despite the fact that graphically, Killzone and Uncharted are much more superior and realistic. I think it's the same deal as Nintendo in the way that despite the system's limitation, use of aesthetic and lighting makes a game stand out more (like Super Mario 3D world having a Pixar charm feel to it).
