There's no real reason why Nintendo couldn't support Bayo3 developement again. THey have a great relation with Sega/Platinum, Bayonetta is in Smash and the franchise is forever linked with Nintendo anyway (Bayo2 won't be on other consoles without Nintendo's permission). And Nintendo would win another candidate for GOTY without interrupting their studios. It's a win-win situation.



You know it deserves the GOTY.

It's kinda funny that they convinently left Peach off the Women's Power campaign ... guess sitting around and waiting to be rescued by a man didn't quite vibe with that campaign. 

 

She doesn't wait around to be saved in Super Mario Bros 2, or SM3DW. In fact, she's arguably the best character to use in both.



Still need to get Bayonetta 2. It's so expensive on Amazon

Not only possible, but I'm also betting most likely will show up on NX. Will it be exclusive though?

It winning the Smash ballot as well as almost selling a million copies when most other 3rd party games sell woefully short of that on Nintendo's consoles will both play a big factor.

Or Platinum might do a new exclusive. I'm sure they're happty enough with Nintendo to keep supporting the platform.

I disagree, Bayonetta recieved almost 0 advertisement and still managed to sell pretty well among Nintendo fans, if Nintendo owned the IP they wouldn't have to pay rights to SEGA/whoever else but they could split the profit with Platinum Games while advertising it to make it a more profitable franchise, it could also be the right start to show that Nintendo doesn't do only childish games, if they start releasing periodically games such as Bayonetta, Fatal Frame, Metroid and so on ADVERTISING THEM people might start to realize that Nintendo consoles aren't meant only for kids. Also I think that now is the perfect time to buy the IP since it still hasn't sold really well so it isn't valutated a lot BUT the Developers demonstrated that they can make an extremely good game out of it, and who knows what they could do with a more powerful system! also the fact that the devs ENJOY making Bayonetta games and hve plenty of ideas means that they wouldn't mind making various sequels. It would be a strategic move too since the team working on Bayo at Platinum wouldn't be able to work on good games for other platforms...



bayonetta 2 was a pretty decent game, Very fun actually.

3rd game has potential. Either it does well, or it'll not do good again.

Sega could probably care less. Selling it or keeping it won't do much of a difference

Although I can't prove it, I'm pretty sure that Bayonetta 2 has already reached the break even point. According to this site sales are at 940.000 copys, digital versions excluded. Let's say the average price is 50€ (or$), that's a revenue of 50 million €. I can hardly believe that this game cost even 10 million to produce. So, this is a big success, if you ask me.

I think the game was cheaper. It was bundled with the original, that makes it 30€ per game and more developing costs. It's still worth making a sequel, even if it is to gain consumer interest in their hardware.
