Forums - Sales - How Important is FF Type-0 Performance on XB1?

Not very. If FFXV struggled to sell that would be a different story but I don't think Type 0 will be reflection of XV sales, not even ratio wise.

updated my OP. In the last part I was refferring to FF XV not selling well (because the audience had moved to PS4)

First, that's completely wrong.

With that out of the way, I say type 0 performance on X1 is irrelevant for future support. After all, square is supporting it despite things like lower sales of previous games and inexistent x1 presence in japan. MS is clearly giving Square some in$entive to keep getting the games.

Actually its completely true. Thus the reason UBI and EA dont support the WiiU. They tried a few ports the 1st year none of them sold so they stopped bring games to the console.

Square partnership goes beyond their jp line, as long as Microsoft feeds the eidos section (square Europe), even if type performs not that great.. Future games will still be multi. There's no point in wasting those 300-500k extra sales anyway.

Then they will give insentive to another genre  beside JRPG, because jrpg doesn't help them at all.

at OP the tittle should add " Sales Performance " it might confuse with the thread above on graphic performance.

300k-500k for type-0 or FF15?

This may be reasonable for Type-0 since it is an overpriced port, but if Xone sells anything less than a million WW this would be THE failure of this gen.

Type.

TBH I don't know, but FF has a larger fan base on playstation. That's for sure.

I think PS4 will certainly have the "Final Fantasy" audience but I think that audience is overstated a bit. Mainline Final Fanatsy's are huge events and the majority of those users aren't regular JRPG  or even regular FF fans going by sales of the main series against spin offs and other JRPGs. In Essense as long X1 has a decent userbase mainline FInal Fantasy will recieve some traction on the platform. The fact that XV is more action orientated also makes this more likely whereas turn base games may have limited its appeal to casual consumers.

it does not matter because the game will sell the most, like 80%, on the PS4.
