Forums - Sony - Uncharted 4 to be 60fps?

Who knows, MGSV PP is 1080p and 60fps and its open world so this is definitely possible.  Game developers should be begging Kojima to use the Fox Engine, that game being 60fps/1080p, being open world, being one of the best looking next gen games puts it way ahead of what other devs are able to accomplish on the PS4.

yeah, the fox engine is incredible not only does it looks great graphically (to me it looks just as good as uncharted) but it also runs at 60 on an open world, i would love to see a new Zone of the Enders using that engine it would be amazing, what? i know the franchise is dead but a fan can dream right?.

It would be great if ND pulls off 1080p 60fps. That said, I think they're more focused on fleshing out the other attributes.

But there's already been one. I say it's still possible.

Maybe. I know they said that they were at 37-38 FPS at PSX and they locked it at 30 for the on stage demo. If they really wanted it at 60 FPS, they could easily do it, I just don't know if they want to downgrade the graphics anymore.

Niel Druckmann's response to the question of "How hard is it to get Uncharted 4 to 60fps?".... "really fucking hard"

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Didn't they already confirmed it to be 30fps?

Anyway, honestly I don't think your theory has any chance of being true. Firstly because I seriously doubt they can pull that off without downgrading further a game that got backlashed for already supposedly being downgraded previously, secondly because ND is a company more worried about graphic fidelity than gameplay so the better the resources at their disposal, they will apply as much as they can to the games visuals. And third, since the trilogy ran at 30fps and people liked it, I believe they don't care that much, for most people 30fps Vs 60fps is not a deal breaker and they know it.

Because they don't want to sacrifice visuals right. From what I have heard and read, it's all about making sacrifices in game development.

I think the delay is more of a result of them actually just wanting to finish/polish the base game, not necessarily because they want to increase the FPS. Didn't they say not to expect 60fps anyways? Don't think they would delay just to do that.

MGSV still looks like a last gen game visually. The PS4 and PS3 versions look the same. I don't think Uncharted 4 could run on a PS3.

no.

...and if it was delayed to hit 60 fps i'd be very pissed because i don't give a shit about 60 fps.

I am curious why it was delayed this far out

Ideally it's because they came up with some great gameplay ideas and really wanted to put them in.

That way their technical experts may be able to go in and vastly improve their engine and thus achieve 60 fps

But given how they have talked about Uncharted 2 not being fun until about a month before launch, I doubt that it is anything other than serious technical problems

Again, people don't quite understand how good these guys are. The fact that they told us this far in advance means that their is some they need time to prefect. You can pretty much bet that this game will be 60FPS (or 120) and to look better than real life. Naughty Dog doesn't care about the holidays. They only care about making masterpieces.

"... this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for. So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards, but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title."
