Daggerfall is not a console RPG.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I expect additional planets to explore since too many things are already spoiled by the trailers and the current world seems pretty small.

The only reason it doesn't seem as huge as it actually is, is because it's so hugely open as a world. You can see almost everything from out on the plains. It doesn't change the fact that it'll take like half an hour to cross the world.

Here's a translation of some more story details.

Interesting parts:

"The United Government had known of the impending destruction for the last 30 years. Or rather, it was formed as a result of that realization. One day, the Earthlings became aware...that we were not alone in space, that countless other races existed in its vast expanses. And at that same time, they became aware of the coming crisis. The multitude of races had divided themselves into two distinct factions based on their physical structures, and were locked in an endless struggle. It was likely that their conflict would spread to the Earth. Upon learning of this, the Earthlings began amassing the majority of their supplies in preparation, and the Earth United Government was formed. Personnel, wealth, and resources were collected and divided between their plans for defense and survival. Of course, there were many who refused to join under the umbrella of the United Government. But the whole world understood the gravity of the situation, so the few dissatisfied dissenters went ignored by the majority. Thus the United Government developed parallel programs that would serve as wings to guide them forward. One to repel the alien forces, and one to ensure their escape and survival."

"However, that did not mean the Moby Dick was safe. A strange planet had appeared before the ship. One that was not marked on the space chart they had acquired before departing the Earth. Why had nobody noticed the planet before then? Was it because we were too busy dealing with the pursuit forces? Or..."

Where did Mira come from? I might be crazy, but maybe this game will indeed connect with Xenoblade Chronicles.

Mira is a city in Baten Kaitos

I will admit, the lack of mystery so far has tempered my excitement for the game a bit. In XenoBlade Chronicles, the world itself, the Mechonis and Bionis, always loomed over you and presented the fact that there was something bigger at work that you needed to figure out.

Even on a smaller scale, there was a sense of progression within the layout of the world, that you needed to go to the very top of the Bionis to find the most advanced race and find answers. Only then to cross into the dreaded Mechonis on a suicidal mission for revenge.

XenoBlade Chronicles X, on the other hand, has plopped you on a big planet with a home base and some mechs. Each area on Mira doesn't seem like a progression, but only different landscapes.

The arrival of the squid woman has offered some new wrinkle to the story at large, and I do know that the studio will no doubt have some grandiose epic. But until then I'm curious to what grand purpose we have for being on Mira, and what twists and turns we'll take once we start the adventure.

I felt the same way until the recent short story.

"A single young man had saved the ship from that predicament. His valiant efforts repelled the bioweapons, but he vanished along with his Doll afterwards."

These definitely add a lot of questions.

Sounds good. Maybe after Doll battles they'll have a "Direct" for the story at large. There's a plethora of alien races that we know next to nothing about, and the appearance of this planet is really neat. Definitely looking forward to knowing more.

If you have the time watch/read the short story for Tatsu as well. It definitely sends a great atmosphere and has hints to Xenoblade (Hom Homs, Heropon, and Dunga.)

As for the mysterious doll pilot, remember that face from the very first trailer that looked a lot like Shulk?  Could that guy be the one?  And could he be a descendant?  Given the ending of Xenoblade, it's not outside the realm of reason.  Assuming this universe is the one Shulk created with Alvis, maybe man started in Mira and set out to Earth using Machina tech, now long lost, and Shulk and Fiora's descendants are still around, perhaps watching over humanity in this dangerous new universe?

was thinking something similar. Although I was thinking reincarnation, ala Xenogears. Alvis could ac. As the wave existence in this scenario.
