I have PS3 and vita versions.

The digging and arranging blocks gets boring real quick and once you get past that, you realise its just a very shallow rpg with crap combat, physics, graphics, animation, sound, story and anything else you can think of that could/should be in a game.

The_Sony_Girl1 i was referring to myself where if i had children, i would incoporate asian parenting style for Op situation lol. I wasn't calling kerotan as asian lol

I hope Notch looks at himself in the mirror one day and puts a bullet in his head. I know that's extremely extreme but that's how I feel. He's the least responsible person on the planet, ruining the entire generation and he doesn't even care. Not even a person, a monster he is.

That damn game.. It's going to be the reason the world will end sooner or later, I tell you!

Minecraft can be used as a weapon. A friend bought minecraft on 360 so that his annoying little cousins could be preoccupied while he can play all his Rated M PS4 games in peace.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

One of the reasons I'm not that active is because I've been using VGChartz on Vita lately. My Blackberry is pretty much useless, and my real phone is fixed, but has trouble connecting to Wifi for some reason. And my Vita recently got stolen by a 8 year old, though I did eventually got it back. The following is a true story.

My little brother is one of those kids who are obsessed with Minecraft. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game, but at around Tuesday last week, my brother didn't want to let go of my Vita, and Imy dad told him that he  wouldn't be allowed to play it for the next week.. The next day, I realized that my Vita and it's charger were missing. I didn't suspect my brother at first, because I thought him innocent. However, he talked a lot about his exploits in Minecraft, and the only other Minecraft we had was on one of our laptops and I was using that laptop from Monday to Friday. There was no way he used Minecraft for so long, so I got suspicious. So the next day, Friday last week, before school, I told him to give me back my Vita tomorrow. However, that day, the bully in his class stole my Vita to spite him because he was defending one of  his friends and also because the bully was jealous my brother had Minecraft: Vita Edition. I was furious with that kid, and wanted to wring his neck when my brother told me this. I had to cut a class during Monday to get my Vita back, but i was told that the kid was sick. Yesterday, when I confronted the bully, he confessed to stealing it, and led me to where he hid it. He was hiding it behind a toilet! Now that bathroom floor of our school is always wet and  I found my Vita screen down. The screen of my Vita is now not working, and my brother is grounded from playing video games for 2 weeks. My brother told me that all his friends always played Minecraft on their iPads and Android tablets, and he  got jealous. He stole my Vita to show off to his friends. I forgave him for stealing my Vita, as I know how jealousy can affect a person. But since yesterday, I've hated the effect of Minecraft on children!

TL;DR: The effect of Minecraft on children made all his friends buy Minecraft Pocket edition. My brother gets jealous and steals my Vita for Minecraft. A bully steals it from him, and now my Vita screen is always flickering.

What's your reaction to my story?

Wow! This makes me want to log off of vgchartz and never come back. MASSIVE generalizations. Ridiculous statements, like this never happened before. My brother used to steal the plug off of the playstation 1 if we didn't play the game of his choice. Instead you blame miecraft specifically even though it's a fad and next year little kids will be stealing something else.

Come back and read this in a few years and you will be massively embarrassed.

More like brothers are just annoying.

My kids learned a lot from Minecraft when they were younger. They've more or less grown out of it now, although they do still play it occasionally on the PS4. Recently, we had an exchange student from Germany stay with us for a week (my kid will go and stay with his family later in the year) and one thing they did have in common was that they liked to play Minecraft. Playing Minecraft with my son helped our visitor improve his vocabulary and conversational English significantly, and since that was the purpose of the visit, I guess that's a success!

To the op - I don't think Minecraft is the problem, it could have been any video game. The problem is more with the addictive nature of videogames in general, and it's the responsibility of parents to help their kids learn to manage and prioritise.

Sorry about what happened to you and your Vita. I didn't know Minecraft was this big among kids. I see the appeal in it though. Minecraft is really fun. I enjoyed it myself for awhile. Though not to bash the other MC versions, after playing the PC version, going back to console was too difficult to do.

Sorry, got a little off topic. I'm surprised how much you let your kid brother off the hook. I would have been more stern on him. Stealing is no joke.

Are you kidding me? Minecraft isn't just a fad. There are literally millions of lets players playing it on YouTube. Something that huge doesn't just disappear. And yes, I blame Minecraft specifically. Why? It's because it's literally the most overplayed game of all time, and because of that, many children aren't exposed to any interactive entertainment because of Minecraft. The good thing is though, I've introduced him to board games and card games, so now he brings those instead of electronics. What was my massive generalizations? How is this ridiculous?
