My godson is turning 9 and loves gaming on ipads, 3ds or ps4. He gets addicted to playing minecraft but the parents simply ban him from playing it too much. You need train them from a young age.

But still he loves things like lego too.

Anyway you really should make that little kids parents pay for it to get fixed.

When  i get kids, i will make sure that they won't have any i[phone, ipads or any smartphone till they reach uni and gaming to be restricted to only weekends after they do they homework ,chores and study . Plus they would have to maintian their grades in order for them to play on the weekends. I feel kids days are getting spoilt with all these new technology and to a certain extent,  this generation  and the upcoming are getting stupid by the day , due to technology being able to do everything for them.

If i was op, i would i had the bully an asisan parenting  and then get  the bully parents to replace the vita. The asian parenting, will ensure the bully will never ever forget what he got on that day

Well said.

I personally plan on getting them big into sports as kids.  So if I've a son he'll be boxing and playing football.  a bit of swimming too. Like when I was a kid if you get fit from an early age onwards it's so much easier to keep it going. The last thing I'd want is a kid addicted to games from the age of 5. It will lead to all sorts of problems.

The only gaming they'll be doing is on my PS5 OR PS6!!

Amen to that. kids need to be active and at least have a hobby thats outside of gaming. It  keeps their mind and body active. Plus its always good at a younger age to  make them learn certain skills such as playing an instrument, knowing how to cook, learning different languages. These will help later on life when they are an adult.  You will be suprise , how many peopel i know that can't cook and can't cook simple things liek  fried eggs or even an omelet. Thats correct, if you are fit at a younger age, you tend to maintain  as it would part of your daily routine. These days, things like park are all empty, playgrounds are empty aw kids juwt wanna stay oome to b4 on their ipads, phone or that thing called fb .  When i was growing up , we had to play outside everyday after 6 with our neighbours  , even it was pretend hide and seek or playing soccer .  It was a way of taking break from playing games and socialising with people face to face which is better then doing it digitally.

Its good as they can make big bucks when they become a professional and they will be paid bicks to be fit and healthy :).  Yup esactly. for me it would ps8 haha but the time they are able to play games . Plus my kids would have to work and earn their consoles they want to play so they learn the idea of independance and appreciate the  value of money.

I remember back in those days when he man was popular and how you could get castle grayskull and you can pretend he man was on an adventure to get rid  fo all the eveil minions in that castle  :)

I had to cut a class during Monday to get my Vita back, but i was told that the kid was sick.

Please , I'm quite sure you enjoyed this part.

OT: Yes, minecraft sure does have a huge effect on  children but it's nothing different then say trading cards. When I was your brothers age, I used to be a big fan of Pokemon training cards which cost €5 per 10 cards. I couldn't afford that, for every 10 cards so instead I begged other children for Pokemon cards. Same goes for champions leage cards and so on when I was 11-12. Practically by this I mean that everything that children becoming fascinated with, the thing with which become fascinated with will have an effect on them so I don't think you should blame Minecraft for this.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

I found the story endearing. Your little brother only wanted to be a part of the cool kids!
Also it was the bully's fault that your Vita is broken since he was the one who put it behind the toilet. He deserves a punch in the nuts.

And just saying but... whenever you have a brother, there is no such thing as "stealing". You have to share everything with them! Let's just say he took it without your permission

PS: Your brother isn't an addict to videgoames. He is just a kid that wanted to fit in with his friends and did it in the worst possible way. This is normal stuff that happens when you have a brother. Mine deleted my 7+ playthrough, 100% complete perfect Chrono Cross save because he needed space on the memory card. It happens

That's an addiction problem not a gaming problem.

I hate what alcohol and gambling does to my mom's side of the family, but it doesn't make alcohol and gambling inherently bad. I'm sure that's not what you're arguing, but I think the Minecraft incident is a reflection of something more than just obsession with a videogame.

I'm pretty sure that alcohol and gambling don't have thousands of YouTubers drinking and gambling.

They are just billion dollars industries and have literally destroyed homes and families. >_>

Than you obviously haven't played enough Minecraft yet.

Can tell when get older how you start to sound like your parents. My parents encouraged me to read and go out and play instead of staying in and playing Mario or Zelda as a kid. To me moderation is the key, games are great, but more to life than them.
