Halo has always been pretty huge out of the gate. Uncharted is big as well but not as big. Uncharted is also a heavily bundled game and hasnt sold on the same level as Halo either.
The key will be XBO vs PS4 as PS4 is more popular. Will the hype of PS4 translate into making Uncharted bigger? But Halo and Masterchief is one of the most recognizable brands in gaming, so more hardware may not matter considering Halo as a whole is much more well known considering Halo 3, Halo Reach, and Halo 4 all sold 10m+
I'd say halo, but depends on how hard Microsoft pushes it. Halo 3 tier with a special edition system should do the trick.

I made a comment earlier in the thread. Uncharted is a series that is growing in popularity. It's easily Sony's biggest franchise right now. And, just as circumstancial evidence, two new IPs opened up extremely well for Playstation. TLOU opened to 1.3M FW on PS3. And that was a new IP. That shows how much influence Naughty Dog has. Destiny sold 2.1M FW on PS4. Also a new IP. That shows how well Sony pushed/advertised/hyped that game. Now, combine the two: caliber of ND + heavy marketing push. And not for a new IP. It's for a game in a series that fans now know has only gotten better with each release, and have no reason to think it'll get worse (as ND keeps releasing top quality games, one after another), whereas Halo is starting to go downhill (Halo 4 + MCC probably left a sour taste in peoples' mouths)

Mainstream knows little about Devs or Publishers. You want a 10m+ seller then youre going to need a lot more than the internet buying the game. Forums is realtively small. Word of mouth and advertising on the other hand goes a long way. As for Sony advertising Destiny, i think that had more to do with activision, not Sony. Sony just had a bundle for it.
Halo 4 > Halo Reach(faster pace). MCC > Halo Anniversary(Faster Pace). With every Halo installment we have the same topic, Halo is getting smaller, yet halo goes on to sell millions each time even though digital is stronger now. And just as Microsoft has done in the past, Halo 5 will have big advertising campaign this holiday. Pre-orders already topping charts almost a year ahead of release just shows you the fans it has behind the franchise
I also think uncharted will sell more globablly then Halo globally, First of ps4 install base is around as double as big, and it seems uncharted is a bit more unique then halo, idk thats my guess, it seems there is more hype around uncharted 4!

Now the installbase doesnt matter to you? you first denied it wasnt bigger than the ps3? |
Are you just not bothering to read what I'm writing? How on earth did you get that interpretation from what I wrote?

Not sure if you saw this, but I am curious to hear your thoughts on how this factors in:
The simple counter to Halo's "install base immunity" would be to say that the Halo franchise is waning in popularity. Despite 3 titles being released over a 5 year period of X360 install base growth, no the FW sales stagnated and failed to grow. If we assume that that trend were to continue, it would be a linear decrease, every 3 years (to 2015). In essence, the X360 would have to grow at the rate it did from 07 to 10 and 10 to 12 from 12 to 15, just maintain the 2.4M FW Halo sales. i think it's safe to say that whatever console sales increases that would be necessary to secure those FW game sales has not happened (last gen is waning), but it is also safe to assume that the X1 install base is nowhere near what the X360 would have to be to secure 2.4M FW sales for Halo 5. If you oversimplify the math, it would take anout ~55-60M X1 users to maintain the trend. If you reapply those simple calculations, the X1 has sold 10% of the consoles necessary to hit 2.4M with Halo 5 in week 1 (It's on "pace" for 240,000 for week 1, using the formula.). Halo 5 will sell more than 250,000 copies FW in the US, but this shows that the signifigance of the historical sales data lends itself to smaller expected debut.
I don't know first week but U4 will sell more than Halo 5 lifetime... userbase matters here.
TLOU 2 will more than both.
