Looking at its sales, you're not the only one.

6. But only if you count Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker as a Mario game and New Super Luigi U as its own game entirely. |
Too many for such a "young" console. Nintendo should do things outside of Mario. I remember when I used to love Nintendo because games of all kinds could be played on Nintendo consoles. Now it's pretty much just Mario doing everything Nintendo could have made into a different game. I applaud the company for chancing it with Beyonetta. But such a great game did so poorly because no one expects something like that on a Nintendo console.
PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS
A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

A sea of Mario? There are 3 titles in that list and all are from different genres that play completely different from one another. How about we stop worrying about who the main character is and instead judge games on their quality.

The Wii U is over 2 years old. Did you really expect them not to release a Mario Kart and 2D/3D Marios at this point? It's not like they're all the same game. The only thing they have in common is...Mario is in them.
Nintendo will be criticized either way. If they stick to their established franchises, people ostracize them for not making new things. If they create new IPs, they're slammed for not making games like Metroid. There are two completely new IPs on that list, which is pretty damn good for any company to release two new games within a 2 month period, and another one of them is still a series that's very young. I'm not gonna be one to tell Nintendo how they should run their business, because at the end of the day, I understand that they have to make money, and if releasing a game with Mario in the title every once and a while is the way to do it, then so be it.

Cool, those games don't fit ur personal tastes, irrelevant to the thread. The point is Nintendo is able to maintain a strong software output and more times than not, the games are critically praised.

BloodBorne trumps all of this, but that's just my personal opinion.

They do make many things outside of Mario, games like Xenoblade, Steel Diver, Pushmo, Dillon's Rolling Western, Wonderful 101, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, Codename STEAM, Splatoon, Devil's Third, Harmoknight are all Nintendo published new IP's created in the last 5 years.
