It's definitely a well polished game with lots of content. At the start you will be overwhelmed by the apparent content but from the middle on you start to see the whole picture and then it just feels like something is missing.

I honestly was disappointed that it was actually a lot shorter than I anticipated. When there were the first previews talking about 200h worth of content I was hyped. But in the end not only was a lot of the content quite arbitrary and just felt like it was there to fill the game. Much like an Ubisoft game. But in the end it was quite short actually. I clocked in less than 100h. And I did like 99% of all the quests until I was painfully overpowered.

It was fun for a bit, then it was a grind and then it left me disappointed when I finished it. It doesn't even have much replay value for me anymore since I got my fill from all the classes during the game.

Yeah, I have no idea why some of the previews said there'd be 200 hours of content, I did everything in the game on the highest difficulty setting and my playthrough clocked in at 109 hours. And some of that was time I just spent waiting on war table missions to finish so I could start new ones before I went off questing, so it was probably less than 100 hours of actual content.

Im playing this now. Currently approaching 70hrs and I just got to Skyhold where a lot of quest opened up.

I'm enjoying every bit of it, just walking around Storm Coast seeing the Giant fighting the Dragon, walking around Fallow Mire. But Hinterlands took most of my time.

It will take me atleast 200hrs to finish this amazing game.

I played the beginning and just couldn't do it. It's like Mass Effect. I don't get the appeal of games like that. To me, it's incredibly boring. It's like an entire game filled with all the things I hated about Deus Ex: HR.

I honestly found the battle system lacking depth. It doesn't evolve, no need to adapt to different kind of enemies, no need for planning. The best thing to do is always using the strongest ability available. + Magic barrier. The levelling up progress was over simplified as well.
Even when it comes to the story. it is fragmented, accessible only through war table, which kills the sense of progress and having a true deep adventure.

It does have a big world, nice variety in environments, and good quantity of activities.

I'm not sold due to the fact that it reminds me heavily of MMO's and I really, really hate MMO's. I will try it some day but I don't want to risk paying full price for a game I won't like.
For the record; I loved the first one and hated the second one.

Great game! I've not played any other game since getting it on release day. I'm still going through Nightmare mode and I love it.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

We have very different ideas of what the word 'short' means lol.

I had an amazing time with it - but I agree I wound up painfully overpowered by the end.

As someone who doesn't play MMOs much I can't see this but then the style of this game reminds me of X-men Legends and FF12, which is why I love the series. X-men Legends was you controlling a small party who you could control all of them, FF12 and DA:O were very similar in style to this.

Sure there are fetch quests or 'kill the enemy' quests but there are few RPGs that don't have such things nowadays.

It's weird that many quote gameplay time as well, people say 'less than 100h', my first playthrough was 55 hours, although I did skip some areas so that when I did play a new character there was something different in the game. :) I'm on my third playthrough now, 30 hours in, after 2 55 hour playthroughs.

Hmm, pie.

I really like it as well. I spend over 20 hours just on the hinterlands alone and left out of their at like level 7 or 8.

I'm sorry, but this game was awful. I played for over a week, about 34 total... and it was so bad. I was so damned hyped for it too. I was very sad. I will never bother with the series again.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

It was certainly a damn fine game. This Gen's best so far imo, of course I'm a big DA fan, so I'm a bit biased lol

Now I just gotta wait patiently for Witcher 3
