If smash fans would just accept that their game is the fucking babytown frolics of fighting games then there'd be far less vitriol in the communities.  There'd still be natural haughtiness from other fanbases and jealousy because smash sells better, but there wouldn't be this nonsense if smash fans would just go, "Look, it's fun, I like it and your opinion doesn't impede my enjoyment of it," and left it at that.

It's not the "babytown frolics" of fighting games. It's not even a fighting game. And competitive Smash is not some "baby" version of competitive fighting. No one who is skilled at both competitive Smash and competitive fighters even entertains the idea that competitive Smash is some type of fighting game for dummies.

The director knows people arent dummies, but he knows people want to play competitive games without feeling alienated by the structure. Most Nintendo party games are created to bring people together (usually in one place like the couch or now the internet) for a fun time. People don't want complexity in almost any form of anything, for that matter. Seriously, think about it....in your favorite genres, generally the most popular tend to be the more simple things because it is made more for enjoyment, than depth. Just because something is simple in mechanics, doesnt mean it doesnt take skill to be better than hundreds to thousands of other players though.

This is by far my favourite genre. I used to play competitively back then when I was still in school. I won some tournaments as well. Right now I'm trying to seriously get back on the scene, but still can't find enough time to train.

I'm planning to attend EVO 2016, if any of you are attending, maybe we can all meet up :D

Just curious.  Is there a good reason?  I'm looking for reasonable answers, because I'm going to be making a video explaining fighting games in the coming days.  Would be nice to hear some feedback of what people are needing help with, incase it isn't already in my notes.

My youtube channel will consist of mostly fighting games, so it makes sense I go into detail of how to play them.

All fighting games will be uploaded in 60 FPS.  No exceptions.  That's the speed they all run at anyway... except Jojos, but I don't play that game anyway.

Here's a simple test. And that's all it is.  A test to see if the video would actually upload in 60 FPS, how it would look after youtube has processed it, etc.  So, the next videos will be much better.

Smash is a fighting game, so I do. But okay.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Damn, is that the purse the top guys split at the end or is that all for the last man standing?

NO.  Get this answered somewhere else, I'm trying to get feedback on what people need to know about fighters.  It's enough of a mess in here already.

When I bought gamepad for PC I decided to try it in SoulCalibur aka "Best Fighting Gaem Ever" according to journos. I picked a char, selected "training" and opened a moveset. I only had one question - WHY?

I couldn't even remember they exist, not to mention learn how to do them. Maybe if I took week vacation I would be able to learn 30% of the moves, for a single character. The similar feeling I had when I downloaded LoL and peeked at champion roster before uninstalling it - some serious stuff happened in parallel dimension, and fortunately I wasn't part of it. Do they even pretend they know how to balance it?

Used to play a lot of figting games when I was younger.

Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter, Marvel/X-Men vs Capcom, Samurai Showdown and KoF were the games I played a LOT of back in the day. Played DC vs MK was the last fighting game I ever played. Realized fighting games just got boring and never touched another FG ever again.

Plus the fact that I realized that I'm too good for my casual friends and get destroyed by my harcore friends (due to lack of playing) so it just isn't that much fun anymore when you're stuck in the middle ground skill level,
