Forums - Gaming - The Order: 1886 Attracts “Uncanny Haterade” Says Director

Damn this is starting to get old. Can't wait for the review thread tomorrow, which should be fun, then the fallout then maybe by mid to end of March this will end up as something that is hopefully forgotten.

Hopefully it will be forgotten by the haters and loved by the gamers who play it!

You know, considering this is a movie styled game, short in length, chock full of QTEs, no multiplayer, but very well done voice acting, great graphics and good storyline and atmosphere, it kind of reminds me of another game I played back in the day that had many of the same issues.

It's sort of like PS4's Heavenly Sword. A game that prioritized graphics and storytelling rather than gameplay.

One of my favorite PS3 games.

That game also was not very well recieved in terms of it's gameplay (I loved it, although I am also a fan of God of War) and managed a 79 meta. Hopefully The Order does somewhat similar since at least it isn't the gunplay that's getting panned but rather the same QTE and length issues Heavenly Sword got hammered for.

Also for those who haven't played Heavenly Sword, go on Netflix and watch the movie. Yup, they took all the cutscenes from that game and actually made it into a full length film.

Expect "The Order 1886: The Game, The Movie" to hit Netflix in 2018.

Let's hope so...then we will know for sure how long the game is, and the people who want the game will get the game and (hopefully) enjoy it.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

It gets a lot of hate, but I've never seen so much defending either for a game like this.

That's because it's worth defending. It's got Lycans yo! That alone makes it awesome.

I will defend Until Dawn as well, even if I know full well it is going to be a terribly cheesy storyline and a bad game, but it is going to be so bad that it's good.

You must have missed all the threads for classics like Heavy rain and killzone 2. If the game turns out to be shit I'll be the first to admit it but I'm making sure to let you all know how much I love it if it turns out to be good.

Some are trying to compare it with other games that are different from it like the Walking Dead.

Proud to be a Californian.

I think people just stating it's "PS4" haters questioning this game shouldn't be so hasty. I most definitely own a PS4 and I am very disappointed by what I have seen so far. As a user put earlier in this thread, I was really hoping for a steam punk style "Gears of War" type game, but what I have seen from the walkthrough just doesn't back that up.

The story still intrigues me a bit (won't go into anything as to not spoil), but I am skeptical enough that won't be enough to prop up the shooting gallery sections.

There is no way anyone can compare this game to Uncharted or Last of Us. Those games had way more robust action sequences and the percentage of the action was far greater then the cutscenes. Here we are talking about a game that is almost 40-50% cutscenes.

And for people comparing this to the Telltale adventure games....they are adventure games on Steam for a fraction of the price. Who you are and what you make the game for matters. You are spouting a AAA title at a 60 dollar price point on a Sony console. I demand more for this then I do an adventure game (which i enjoy greatly) on steam set in one of my favorite universes.

Well, just different opinions! I already get frustrated when control is taken away from me longer than 5 seconds. :p

But I've got nothing against other people enjoying cinematic games.
