it's very relevant.  If it doesn't take nearly as much time then it doesn't cost as much.  Those savings in development should be passed on to consumers.  You're obviously not buying the right SP games if you only get 12 hours out of them.  Sure I'll only get 12 hours out of the order at first.  But if it's good (looks like a game I'll like) then it's worth replaying countless times.  It's like re-visiting a classic film over and over vs. watching a new episode of a daytime TV show every day.  There's room for both but one is more quantity where you always get new stuff while the other is more quality as every corner is a part of a masterwork.  There's room for both surely but I usually get more out of SP games hours wise than MP because I revisit them annually especially cinematic ones like Heavy Rain, Uncharted, The Order, and Batman

Please link us to factual analysis of developing a title like Evolve versus a SP game? Surely there must be tons of studies on this, you speak about it so factually. You don't seem to be taking into consideration ongoing server costs for online games, either. And you're downplaying the time it takes to design MP content versus SP. Most importantly balance of maps and characters/abilities.

Or maybe TR just drew up Lazarus on a piece of paper and put him right into the game, idk.

sure I have a link for all my sources

see my earlier post about why it doesn't take as much I'm not repeating myself

Oh, ok. I figured as much. I guess that explains how you can speak so factually about aspects that cannot be logically quantified, such as the amount of "care" that goes into a title. Thanks for the confirmation.

Do I have to say "imo" before and/or after all the things I say that are clearly subjective?  Because I don't believe I care enough to do so.  Just put that in front of everything if it makes you feel better.

doesn't take nearly as much craftsmanship or time and care to make a few MP maps and put it on random cycle than to craft a 12 hour story with new gameplay encounters every level

Balancing is much harder than level design, because you need alot of people testing the game. we see good sp games every month, but we have to w8 years for good mp games.

exact opposite.  Don't know where you're getting that from look at how many people are contantly on MP games.  They're playing something while many skip over SP and the industry continues to move away from it.  You have no appreciation of every filmic element that goes into a great SP along with difficulty curve, AI, and variation to keep the player into it from start to finish.  Not to mention balance is in SP it's just not a balance of players it's a balance of player vs. AI.

but those people need a lot of mp games because they change them rapidly. the most mp games are dead after some months.

and you can forgive flaws much easyer in sp games.  i mean look at last gen, tlou has so many problems, but most flaws(like a unispired story and meh storytelling) arnt relevant for the ratings or sales.  why? because most people dont realy care for a great story and good storytelling, they are fine as long as it doesnt get boring.

can't help people with low standards.  Just like there are some people who will forgive SP games for bland stories there are people who will forgive MP games for horrible balancing and samey maps.

a mp game need costum maps, or a realy good developer like riot games( they made a new game mode and map because people were playing with houserules.)

That's a good thing in my opinion. This game should have been half price with the way they released it.

If pre-orders on this site are any indication, it's going to be a commercial bomb.
