PS4 is horrible, but somewhat expected.
XBO is up at least, that's good news (imagine if it had been down!) And good for the Wii U!

As others have pointed out, how is the PS4, "horrible"? It gone back to what it was doing before, because it is the exact same price as it was on November 15, 2013. This thinking just makes no sense, to me.

It could be argued that being down from last year, does showcase sort of terrible like behaviour. Namely when console should be going up in 2nd year on the market not down. However I think this is more reflection on how the technology market is, and this is safe to say based on a lot of products  that it is very front loaded. People adopt to new technology quicker, than comparable to the past.

(Simple terms Demand is higher, when products are introduced now compared to the past, where it was typically 2nd or 3rd year)

Of course your argument will be the lack of a price cut, which is true as well, but at the same time, that is a companies willingness to do a price cut. Demand can still be reflected.

Of course, my chain of thought is PS4 is just fine, being front loaded means it has an established userbase. It is just becoming normal now and the sales are great.

Confirmation Bias.

Indeed, Teeqoz has a history of being anti-Sony, probably even moreso than me. I am a lost cause, but maybe he will see the light someday and become a Sony pony.

According to the avatar, that day has already passed.

Come on CGI, you know me I'm not pleased with the PS4 results, since it's down 30% yoy. As I said, sure, it was expected, but I wanted it to do more regardless, and I hope Sony cut the price sometime this year, because it's way better to keep your momentum through pricecuts, than trying to kickstart momentum after it's gone using a pricecut.

I can describe this month's NPD result in one word:
Deserved.

Damn, I thought I was good at hiding my Sony hate, and here you go and broadcast it to the world. Thanks alot, Rol.

I am actually surprised PS4 won by so much.

It seems Xbox One could be in trouble looking by their lineup. MS better secure marketing deals with the big releases of the first half of the year (Battlefield, Batman, The Witcher and Mortal Kombat X). I could be wrong but it seems their exclusive line up only begins in june with Crackdown 3, while PS4 has Bloodborne and The Order (and maybe Deep Down?).

Good to see Wii U up YoY, but now they need to play their cards right to keep this momentum. I am worried that Yoshi doesn't have a date yet, while Kirby will be perceived as a smaller game. They also have Splatoon and MP 10 for the 1st half, so maybe they can do it.

Three of which are already secured by Sony.

So XOne and Wii-U already overtracked even with one week of sales still missing. Can't say i'm surprised really, especially with Wii-U(no reason why it would be up from last year). PS4 seems pretty accurate.

it is up from last year...

Not by that much i meant, and i somehow hade VGC original numbers of around 85k in January from last year in my head sorry.

So PS4 is back on track? Amazing lead as it should be and deserved.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Where did you dig Crackdown 3 from? That game is not coming out in 2015 at all. But neither is Deep Down.

And Sony has marketing deals for BF, MK and Batman, XOne for The Witcher.
