... go back to pre-release PS4 and look at what they promised, we should be there now and they should be expanding on that. Instead we arent even close to it yet and it doesnt look any closer than we did at launch.

Errrr, I'm not sure what you're talking about.

pre release this is what we were promised.

  • game DVR
  • share for videos and pictures
  • share play (allow your friend take the controller)
  • BC support via gakai (PlayStation now)
  • cross party chat
  • instant game resume
now what we have is
  • everything on that list except instant game resume
  • PlayStation vue (currently in closed beta)
  • dynamic themes
so I really don't know what you mean. could you kindly tell us all these features that were promised that they have not come close to giving?

They also said the arm co-processor would handle downloads while you queue them from remote. This also didn't happen. But that's not a feature, only a power issue.

I believe there was talk of predictive downloads, so when you're done playing a game the OS would not only recommend 'similar' titles from the PS store, but have already downloaded demos for these suggestions. I wasn't too thrilled with this idea, but figured it was vaporware like Shareplay. Which turned out to totally not be vaporware...

I use to put my CDs on to my PS3
Put walking dead mp4's on my PS3
Custom background and custom themes on PS3

That is all I'd like them to add the PS4

Wasn't there also something that you could begin to play PS4 games via $cloud while the game downloads in the background?

Maybe? I haven't bought any full PS4 games digitally, so dunno if they have to 100% download before being playable. I clearly remember The Last of Us on PS3 being playable after a partial download, as a tangible preview of this upcoming PS4 feature.

I will once again repeat,  it has all the features I need and many more in don't.  In relation to the hard drive my 1.5tb HDD is doing just fine.

whats the biggest size you can get for a 2.5 external hdd?, cause in nz , its sadly just 1tb which is way too small for me.

I have no interest in external hdds so I don't know.  By the time I get anywhere near to filling mine and then deleting the deadwood and filling it again external hdd support will likely be there.

No external HDD support really killed me in getting an PS4. Its one of the reasons I chose an Xbox. Now at the time I got it (Feb 2014) it wasn't available yet, but in a few months we had it. Recently got a 5 TB external HDD! Going to last me a while. Also I like the controller more, and the XB1 can also suspend and go back into a game at the same place you where at no problemo! Plus I've also heard its missing lots of friend features than compared to the XB1. The only thing I need for the XB1 to do is GOD DAMN ALLOW ME TO RECORD FOR MORE THAN 5..... but seriously 5 mins is not enough, don't know which idiot thought of that. And when I put it to the xbox feedback site, it ALWAYS gets deleted!

Same for me, im guessing hes saying the console boots up fully just doesnt do it in a low power arm mode, but ive never been at home to see what happens.

Not really. You list a lot of fairly small bullet points, which is what XB1 has been focusing on, while PS4 has had big features released like SharePlay.  In my mind SharePlay, Now, Vue are worth 100+ small tweaks.  Plus PS4 has had a better user experience from the start, and still does.
