So, we have 3 of the people figured out now. Now for who ever those others are.

Jesse Cox
TomSka
Ijustine

I used to watch him. One of the outro songs was...

UFO commander we are the future

We're gonna take you to the future

Then we're gonna get to the future

Then we're gonna talk like we're from the future

Or something very similar to that.

Edit: I looked it up. It's, "Where everyone talks like they're from the future."

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

I liked the commercials. Very informative and sells the consoles well.

Well done nintendo! Have a pat on the back.

Jesse is a fucking sellout^^

Jesse Cox: Corporate Shill

Who will he sell himself to next? Find out next week on Dragonball Z!

Oh wowie, look at all those people I don't know.

Well... it's smart of them to advertise during 'adult' shows like The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul. Finally they figured out that they can sell the 3DS to gamers outside of the Cartoon Network demographic. I wish they'd realized that back when they were marketing Smash Bros.

I don't think these are the right kind of commercials for the audience of those two shows, though. I get that the goal here is to sell the system rather than the games, but there's just way too much focus on the system and the people playing it. And the voice-over on top of that... it's just too much. Show the games. Show the games. Remember back in 2011 when Iwata said it was difficult to convey the 3D effect through commercials? They still haven't learned from that! They still have these guys standing here telling you, wow the 3D is like so cool.

Wasn't he in one of Anita's feminazi videos?

Even though the ads are kinda mediocre (come off as an infomercial), I'll give them credit for at least not having any damn kids in the commercial and apparently airing them during actual prime time programming that a normal person would watch.

This is the first time I've seen a major Nintendo spot specifically aimed at adults since the 3DS launch commercials like four years ago.

I think it would've been better if they just used maybe iJustine alone and maybe one of the other guys.

It what context? I mean, he has argued with her (or maybe at her, or maybe just in her general vicinity) on numerous occasions and he can be pretty darn offensive at times...

To be honest though the 3DS doesn't have impressive looking graphics by modern standards, I don't think you want to "show the games" too much as the gameplay is what sets those games apart. The infomercial style of the commercial is a bit cheesy though I agree. As for 3D ... they're kinda married to it with the 3DS, they don't have much of a choice but to push that angle as its what makes the system unique.

Of course they have a choice. They can choose to have a bunch of people talking about the 3D for 30 seconds while barely mentioning the game itself. They can choose to not mention the 3D at all. They can choose to mention it once, briefly.

This isn't rocket science. Compare that commercial for Majora's Mask 3D to this one for Ocarina of Time 3D. That's from 4 years ago! They weren't afraid to show the game. They weren't overloading the viewer with information from 6 different sources. Nobody says "3D" even once, but they're smart enough to realize that "3D" is a part of the names of both the system and the game they're advertising, and is therefore already plastered all over the advertisement.

Here's another commercial for Ocarina 3D. This time they used CGI to make the game look much prettier than it is. They're clearly aiming for the nostalgia bone here, as they show a few of the most instantly recognizable moments from Ocarina of Time. Focusing more strongly on the game itself than in the Williams commercial even though they're not even showing the real game. At the end of the commercial they give a quick, "Now in 3D, no glasses required," and that's it.

They could have easily done something very similar to these commercials for Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter, and I think it would have been much more effective than what they did instead.

Now look what you've done, you made me bring up Robin Williams and make everyone sad.
