Augen is German for eye. I guess I got tired of old days of having numbers or characters after any name I could think up. I love the German language so picked a word from there that I liked.

By the way, 'Augen' is plural, so it means 'eyes'.

I thought it sounded cool while being in good taste, and that's about it. What's interesting is that there was a funny incident involving a lemon slice in my life a year after I registered here, which garnered me the same nick among a few friends in real life for a short while, but that's for another day.

This actually makes your name different now. Being the posh british guy that I am, I was pronoucing your name 'Ore-Gen', yet I know some German including that word just never took in it was the German word. Good to know.
