Forums - Gaming - retrospective review resident evil 6

so I'm a huge fan of resident evil, my favourite out of the series is resident evil 2. But after originally playing resident evil 6 I wasn't a fan. So I went back and played it on professional. And I have to say I loved it, it was up there with resident evil 4. Leons campaign was resident evil 4 on steroids. Jakes campaign was like resident evil 3 in 3rd person perspective. The only campaign that left it felling bellow par was chris's. Only for one reason and that was the cover system sucked. Spoiler, (adas campaign ) was if you made resident evil 4 but you could move and shoot. Overall I give the game 8/10. The only problem for me is chris's campaign left the rest of it down. But I they fix the cover system and reduce the qte's I think resident evil 7 will be the bed game ever. Also the mercenaries was cool. Plus points the dedicated server was not expected. Finally ill add in where is billy, jill, Barry and Carlos. No point adding in new characters without telling stories of the old, plus we all want wesker back

I personally don't like Resi 6 at all... Leon's campaign was the best, that's for sure, but it still felt pretty meh even compared to Resi 5! Hopefully Resi 7 will be better, because I really don't see how they could go even lower than Resi 6.

Good for you, I couldn't force myself to finished it. Glad that I held myself at launch and only paid $15 when it was on sale.  RE5 was highly criticized but it felt a masterpiece after RE6.

they need to reduce the qte's and up the difficulty. Normal mode was even too easy. They should have made it harder. Also they should have stuck with the main story characters. Billy coen needs more love from Capcom.

I agree with both points, specially QTEs! Those have been an issue in the Resi franchise ever since 4!

ya I loved resident evil 4 but for the button bashing. Hated that, I honestly think resident evil 6 was harshly reviewed. The story should have got a lot of plus points for the way the campaigns intertwined

The biggest problem with RE6 besides lack of polish was too much filler.

The three campaigns should have been a single campaign separated by mission number. Kinda like RE:Revelations. The game felt too long and you would basically see the same levels and bosses multiple times.

There is a decent game in there that needs a lot of fat trimmed.

The campaigns intertwining isn't worth much when they're a tedious bore.

The story was pretty good though.

lack of polish as in graphics?

Quite simply one of the worst games I have played last gen. Series is at a point of no return for me.
