If you mean quality games, then yes. but I guess you mean nintendo spinoffs, wich is dead wrong.

Ho please, look at assassin's creed 3 and 4, call of duty black ops, injustice gods among us, darksiders 2 and many more, are all higher rated than hyrule warrior yet because they lack a major Nintendo character in them they all will never reach the same success that hyrule warrior has.

No a 1000 times. I don't think anyone should have to explain something this simple but, same game with different character is still the same game.

... so you don't have any counter argument, you just gonna hold your hands to your ears and say ''no! no! no! no!''. I also would like to point at Zombie U the big third party exclusive for the wii U at launch, still crawling to the million mark, it did so bad, Ubisoft pretty much stopped supporting the wii U, and by the way that too is better rated than hyrule warrior.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

For me to have a counter argument, you need to have an argument in the first place. It makes no sense whatsoever to say things like "AC and Cod would have sold more with mario/zelda slapped on them". And are you seriously saying that 1 million+ is bad for a low budget new IP that is also a launch title?

Samurai Warriors

Warriors Orochi

Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1 & 2 (inc PS2 versions)

One Piece Pirate Warriors

Hyrule Warriors

Have all exceeded cumulative 1 million units sold worldwide. Dynasty Warriors 4 and 3 exceeded 2 million units and Dynasty Warriors 5, Samurai Warriors and Warriors Orochi have exceeded 1.5m units. One Piece Pirate Warriors may also have exceeded this number.

I may have forgotten some games, also some games I don't have sales figures for so can't confirm. And no, VGChartz is not the source. Koei is.

But Hyrule Warriors is the first time the west has given a shit about the Warriors series in many years. Simply because of the IP.

Agreed.

I was only replying to the post which was asking which other Musou games sold 1m+ units worldwide.

This is the first Musou game where more than 85% of the sales have been from the west. And that's all thanks to the Zelda brand. In fact this game is on track to become the best selling Warriors game in the USA, it's already sold over 400,000 units and will shortly exceed Dynasty Warriors 3 sales with chances high that it'll either match or exceed Dynasty Warriors 4 sales.

And it's fully deserved, the game is a perfect combination of Zelda and Musou.

Did it work for Scribblenauts, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Rayman Legends, Sonic Lost World, and Bayonetta 2?

No, No, Yes, Yes, Maybe?

I know it worked wonders for Soul Calibur 2 (it was the best selling version), but the integration needs to be more than just some customes for it to affect sales... a Nintendo character in the roster of Tekken would have done wonders for the game, even if the fans of the console don't like/play a lot of fighting games, an assassin's creed with a green like Zelda cloth + an exclusive master sword weapon, and a simple "kill ganondorf" mission... could move some additional units. But that usually represents more work for the developer/publisher and they want to do the bare minimun for the Wii U edition of the game.

Impressive, that's what every third party devs should do on the wii U if they expect to have success

Seriously? All those sold a couple million. Some reaching about 10m...(like AC 3, that got 12m.)

HW hasn't reached 1m yet, just about to.

I can no longer take you seriously for a very, very long time now.

Huh, where did they do that on the wii U? And you are the one not taking me seriously lol

First what game are you talking about ''And are you seriously saying that 1 million+ is bad for a low budget new IP that is also a launch title?'' Because zombi U isns't at 1million + and was far from having a low budget, and hyrule warrior which we know is above 1 million isn't a launch title. So you got me confuse here.

It could work, but isn't that a bit of a problem that extra things have to be done to get a decent level of sales?

Is a problem of trust, Nintendo fans don't trust third party games, so they need some kind of push to at least try the game, I know is not the ideal situation but there is nothing much we can do to fix it.

I run a Wii U group on facebook with over 2200 members and they are only looking for Nintendo published titles unless something really extraordinary happens like a major discount, then they play the game and usually like it but they were not willing to buy the game for the full price because they did not consider the title interesting or the port good enough, is a sad and kind of depressing cycle, but also a hard one to break.
