Looks interesting, but that teleportation cover thing looks kind of weird in a Persona game. Was that action-based gameplay we saw?

This game will be massive.

IMO it's a lot better. What parts of Persona 3 are you not liking? |
| Kresnik said: Pleasenotrandomlygenerateddungeons. That honestly spoiled Persona 3 for me. I enjoyed everything else about the game. |
Damn, I have to pick this game. I hope that my backlog of games is greatly reduced by the time this game be released.

Graphics don't really matter for these games. Focus on the art style instead and you'll be a happy camper, unlike those happy campers waiting in the cold during Black Friday....which I hope to Zod isn't around when this game releases.
On a separate note, I was getting a Phantom of the Opera vibe at the beginning of the video, did anybody else?

I found the dungeons in 4 to be a drag after a while, but if you like everything else about the game, it is still well worth playing. Put it on easy, breeze through the dungeons, and enjoy everything else is the best way to play Persona, at least up until this point. I'm hoping 5 has enough changes to the dungeons and combat to make it worth playing on medium.

heh, probably should have remembered that. It's just the way you said it made it sound like you had some bigger problems with it than just that. TBH the dungeons in P4 did start to feel like a bit of a chore towards the end for me, but the story was so good that I still really enjoyed it |
I should clarify that I played Persona 3 Portable so I don't know if that changes anything.
I enjoyed the social link stuff most in the game. That was fun. The storylines were interesting; I really liked the characters and it was fun seeing things play out over a series of weeks.
The main storyline was going pretty decent places. Nothing special from where I got up to, but it had potential.
The combat is so-so. I'm a fan of turn-based combat, and there was nothing inherently exciting or unexciting for me in it.
But the dungeons... man. They take up so much of the game, and just running through floor after floor of the same design with just randomly placed rooms over and over looking for the way out... grated on me pretty rapidly, to the extent I dropped the game out of boredom.
If Persona 5 has actual properly designed dungeons, which it at least looks like it might from this trailer, then I might be more interested.
As for Persona 4, I'm led to believe it's got the same copy-paste-randomly-generated design as P3. Given that I have yet to make it through P3... I'll have to see if I can finish that first before buying P4.

I think it is still turn based. Those teleportation bits looked out of battle, maybe a new way to avoid battles completely. The bit that showed a battle with the player icons and health bars and everything was different, it also showed some slow motion attacks, so either it is turn based for those to be there or they slowed down those parts specifically for the purpose of the trailer. |
You play as a thief.
Cover system is a part of stealth gameplay.
I don't see it to be honest. Then again i've never played a Persona.

I guess it could be entirely static input for the stealth parts.
