Yeah, no. Rare's output from 1994-2001 (and even Starfox Adventures in 2002) was legendary in gaming, and most of those games still hold up today.

I also find it hilarious that you are supposedly a Nintendo fan, but you hate running around just to find stuff. That's like a Microsoft fan saying they hate shooting things.

The only problem I have with Rare is that they made Banjo-Kazooie, but they did end up creating Diddy Kong... So I guess I forgive them

You lost me when you said DKC 3 was the worst in the trilogy. Really Freakin' Clever sums up very well why it's the second best in the trilogy, well above the first, which is also phenomenal.

Overall you seem to be comparing these old games to new games. Which will of course lead to most of the new games being better.

I agree with OP. There were good games, DKC1 and DKC2, but over all I think it is mostly nostalgia that makes people think they're great. But nostalgia does that with a lot of things:)

Well Im hoping you never owned a 64 back in the day, you just threw out half of its worthwhile library. Rare were better than Nintendo EAD back then, the only games EAD had over them were SM64 and OoT

But I disagree. The games that Rare made were epic at the time and I have had many unforgettable moments with their games

To each his own. I used to live Rare but not so much now. But the same can be said about heralded devs like Naughty Dog and Bioware.

I think they are rightfully praised for the great work they did with Ninten. So many of their games were so great! DKC, Golden Eye, Banjo Kazooie, and DK64...! These were fond memories of my past. : ) And all those codes in Golden Eye made the game so much FUN!
