Unless they get some high profile exclusives over there I don't think it's possible.

This is quite bad news for xbox owners. It means you will miss alot of japanese games who wont come out on XO if they are made by a smaller studio.

Truly doubt it. I'm starting to question its chances that it will ever sell 100k in Japan. The thing is the release was a disaster for MS, and I don't think they will have any reason whatsoever to support their console in the land of the rising sun.

Nintendo actually has a decent chance of selling more then the GC did there, while the PS4 will probably be Sony's worst selling home console there, its pretty much a given that sooner or later it will push over 5 million units and that will be enough of a reason for developers to support it.

Did the original Xbox sell 2 million in Japan like Wikipedia says

Better prédiction : PS4 first week / 3 > X1 lifetime in japan

OG Xbox did sell about 2m in Japan.

Here's a more interesting prediction

OG Xbox FW > XBO LTD in Japan.

Look at the date on the chart Rol, that was the total sales of the OG Xbox by 2002.

From graph.info as well, here are the total sales of Xbox by the end of 2005.

I so saw this coming, launching in Japan was a total waste of effort for Microsoft. With it selling only a couple hundred consoles each week, I agree it won't get to 300k.
