Next gen means..

graphics 31 32.63%

A.I 9 9.47%

Bigger world 10 10.53%

Game play mechanics 15 15.79%

boob physics! umm i mean physics! 9 9.47%

Other (comment) 21 22.11%

Total:95

More demanding system requirements for PC versions. Other than that, difficult to say. Of course graphics is always a big thing, and I reckon bigger worlds are going to be a thing whenever resources are increased. Then there's increased procedurality and sophistication as well.

Not bigger worlds and better graphics anymore, but bigger games in scope.
I am not a big fan of Shadows of Mordor, but things like the nemesis system is what i mean.

I want me and 3 friends to play the same RPG and have completely different experiences.

new ips

Thats one i forgot! What was your favorite new ip of last gen

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

Ideally I guess seeing new ways to play that were not possible in the previous generation. Before we reached the time of the Wii/PS3/Xbox gen, it was a big jump in almost everything, from 2D to 3D, blocky characters to fleshed out characters, and more finer detail. Though now I think something else needs to be done to define new ways to play, which would be like the Wii and motion control, maybe massive worlds, or new innovative game play ideas.

When I think of next-gen, better graphics springs to my mind immediately. However, I also think about bigger and detailed worlds, since the limitation from the previous generation are gone. Like Fallout 3, for example.

....the closest generation that hasn't come yet? Am I thinking of this too technically?

I think VR will be the game changer/revolutionary thing about this generation. Beyond that, better graphics, bigger scope to games, better A.I., etc.

Umm, new systems?

An evolution of the gameplay and presentation of the previous generation.

Bigger worlds, better graphics, and just things that were not possible on the previous generation of consoles.
