I think the first one posted wasn't even a space pirate, it was a Chozo.

This in an in-game shot. I prefer this design and in fact the whole aesthetic more in Prime 1 than 2 but both games are so far ahead of most others in this regard that it's not even funny.

The first one posted was U-Mos, sentinel of the Luminoth.

Sorry yes, you are absolutely correct.  It's been a while :)

Reminds me, I need to get my copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy back from the friend I lent it to.

Valkyria Chronicles

Valkyria Chronicles is drop-dead gorgeous, but it's seventh-gen, albeit early seventh-gen.

How could I have forgotten this one... XD

Screens can't even display the best thing about its graphics though; pretty much flawless 60fps that really adds to the sense of insane speed.

An amazing achievement by sega on the gamecube.

Probably anything Ninten made on the Gamecube. A few that come to mind are Mario Sunshine, Luigi`s Mansion, and Wind Waker.

RE1 and 0 look excellent even to this day. : )
