I really wonder if I could run that emulator on my laptop...

And I can use original discs, right? Or do I need ISOs?

What are your specs? Emulation speed (in general) relies a lot in CPU speed (not clockspeed).

Here's a link to the specs. It's in Japanese though... but the important points should be understandable.

If not, I'll post info when I come back from work.

Btw, I have the one with the specs on the left (gold) column.

This is a beefy laptop and you should be able to run many games with full speed. The GPU is of course not the best but should do! Give it a try, PCSX2 is awesome.

I think your i7 CPU, mobile or not, should be great for PS2 emulation.

My old Core 2 Duo E8400 wasn't capable of emulating PS2. Here are comparisions of my old and your CPU:

My new i5-4570 is great, it only goes up max to about 25% usage when emulating PS2 games on all 4 cores.

Here are comparisons of my new and your CPU:

The have quite similar performance.

The GameCube games look better just on the console never mind when using dolphin

GC and Wii are newer tech than PS2, of course they will look better, captain.

i dare you to play Ace Combat 04 on it.

This superiority complex makes me laugh. Why play game that is "meant" for inferior machines? It feels kinda cheating to play a game in a system that was "never meant" to be played.

Thanks! I'm really tempted to try it. DQ8 in high resolution would be awesome.

What controllers do you guys use for PS2 emulation?

The PS3 emulator RPCS3 is coming along nicely, it now runs Sonic CD lol

I use my original wireless Dualshock 3 controller that came with my PS3. I use the MotioninJoy software and a Bluetooth dongle to connect it to PC. It can be a pain to get it working at first but once you learn the few steps (their sequence) it's as easy as few clicks. In case you have a Dualshock 3, here is the tutorial that I used:
