For some reason my phone autocorrects it to that every time I type X1 D:

My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)

Clarification on the "Xbox division". We still see the "Xbox division" mentioned a lot on this forum. To re-iterate, there is no such thing as the Xbox division. Gaming activity falls into two sub-segments of the Microsoft business under Devices and Consumer Computing and Gaming Hardware, comprising: Xbox gaming and entertainment consoles and accessories, second-party and third-party video game royalties, and Xbox Live subscriptions (“Xbox Platform”); Surface devices and accessories (“Surface”); and Microsoft PC accessories; D&C Other, comprising: Resale, including Windows Store, Xbox Live transactions, and Windows Phone Store; search advertising; display advertising; Office 365 Consumer, comprising Office 365 Home and Office 365 Personal; Studios, comprising first-party video games; non-Microsoft products sold in our retail stores; and certain other consumer products and services not included in the categories above. |
Should also point out because it certainly will be claimed is that Android (and other license revenue) is not included in either of those two sub-segments.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Some people have already gotten a bit shirty in this thread.
Every quarter someone steps over the line and gets banned, don't be that guy.

Fuck, I got class at that time. It'll be interesting to see what the shipment numbers are how close VGC got. After Sony 18.5 million announcement and VGC's adjustments, they did pretty good against NPD's numbers.
At your part about the xbox division, even though there is no such thing called the "xbox division" within Microsoft, that doesn't mean that you can't talk about revenue and profit in relation to the "xbox division". It's just a name people give to everything xbox encompasses, from hardware to 1st party software to third party software to XBL. Now I'm fully aware that we will never know specific figures for this "xbox division" because it is mixed together with a bunch of other things, it still makes sense to talk about the "xbox division" when discussing financials, unless you want people to say "I'm curious as to what the xbox part of the computing and hardware segment, combined with the xbox parts of the Devices and Consumer segment made this quarter" instead of just saying "I'm curious as to what the xbox division did this quarter."
TLDR It makes sense to use the name "xbox division" unless you're gonna start talking about specific numbers, because MS isn't exactly transparent when it comes to the Computing and Hardware segment of their business, so any numbers you use will be pulled out of your ass. There's no need to be overtly difficult about such small semantics.
