Mario aged poorly and I never liked it much to begin with, so Crash wins easily for me. Not that it hasn't also aged poorly, but it's aged less than Mario.

i thought ps1 had just a d-pad?    did games like crash support dual analog or was it like more perhiphials and not supported?

At first it did. The Dualshock was released after launch, some time between Crash 1 and Crash 2 I think.

I prefer Crash 3 over Super Mario 64. Sure, Mario 64 had some nifty features for its time, but Crash Bandicoot: Warped had something SM64 didn't have. I can't put my finger into it.

The PSX Crash games are tons of fun, specially Crash 2, but Mario 64 wins this one!

Crash Bandicoot 100%
Hell, the Crash Bandicoot trilogy destroys the whole Super Mario series!!!
Mario has no chance against the bandicoot!

Have you played the Super Mario Galaxy games? (specially the second).
That thing is so good!

Have played just the second one and this is a good game no doubt but Crash Bandicoot was a gaming milestone for me.

If I recall it right, only Crash 3 fully support it. Almost all games that came after the dualshock launch made some use of it if I recall it right as well.

never realized that.  looked things up a bit and ps1 released in 1994 and the dualshock was 1997 so about half way though the gen.
