UK. More or less same as the US but a few differences in preference. Last gen, the UK was almost entirely won by Microsoft it seems. I only knew 2 people who had PS3s.
This gen, Sony has claimed that back.
The 3DS is doing quite well too.

The 360 was really popular at launch in 2005, but as soon as the PS3 came, it had all the hype despite no gaemz and 599 € (which quickly changed to 399 € anyway.) But in germany you have also an insanely large PC crowd. The best-selling games around here? Landwirtschafstsimulator, Minecraft and Die Sims. Every other title, games you would consider hardcore, come loooong after that. But Call of Duty, GTA and FIFA are of course also pretty big. As for the Next-Gen (or Current-Gen, name them the way you want, I don't care) it's again a complete Lockdown for Sony when it comes to home consoles. Wii U sold like shit when it came out, the stores couldn't even sell launch stock and quickly lowered the prices to 199 € and below. The same is true for Xbox One. It's dead in the water. PS4 was sold out again the other week and just continues to sell like crazy. |
How are the gameing shops like for.stocking wii u products? in uk its pretty much non exsistant

Thats because in the UK the games and entertainment retailers are dropping like flies. Cant really expect the non specialists to stock the full range for systems like the wii U and vita.
It's interesting to see that all the major English speaking countries seems to be in favor for the Xbox-brand. US, Canada, Ireland, UK and Australia. Does the same apply for NZ and South Africa? If so, does anyone have any good clue why this might be?
And to no surprise I suppose, central, eastern and southern Europe (mainly) seems to be in clear favor for the PS-brand. And one could of course also ask the same question here, how come the non-English speaking western countries seems to be in favor for the PS-brand? Almost as if Xbox didn't even exist.
To me it seems to be divided by culture and language, somehow. But why, I don't understand. Before the X360 I would assume that the millions of people in the English speaking countries were in favour for the PS1 and PS2, but then switched/changed. And in the major parts of Europe they didn't, they continued with PS3.
Am I on to something here or is it just a bizzare coincident?

This really caught my interest as well to be honest. The Nordic market seems to be stronger than I had thought, and especially Norway.
If we compare Sweden (~10 million people) to Norway, Denmark and Finland (~5 million), the three later markets are all stronger than the Swedish in terms of sales/population. Norway the very strongest. I had never thought this beforehand. Just by adding up the numbers, Norway could have sold ~2 million PS3 games in 2013 with twice as big of a population as Sweden. Denmark and Finland would also be near to ~2million PS3 games as well. Also the near 50:50 ratio of PS3:X360 games in Sweden looks very odd compared to the other three countries.
In Canada everything is more expensive than the US, and everything seems to sell, even the Wii U and Ouya. I also think X1 is winning here right now, but its mostly cause the PS4 is $449 and the X1 had some great deals during the holidays.

Where did you get the 2 million PS3s from? That report was only software sales.
Poland:
I'm certain most gamers are PC gamers. The Sims is ver popular.
Games cost about 200-300. Consoles roughy 1000+
Vita I saw in shops but havent seen anyone with it. PS beats Xbox by far but both brands are know and played less than PC.
Nintendo is dead. Nobody knows what a 3DS is. Nintendo does not sell there. There is about 30 sjops in all of country that sell Nintendo stuff, mostly near the west near Germany..(nintendo.pl)
People know Pokemon beacuse it's on tv. Mario is less known.
Jamaica:
Sony island basically. Everyone and their dog has a PSP. Most people have PS3s too. Only a few have PS4s. I don't think anyone knows about Vita though. :(
MS on the other hand is fairly popular too. The 360 use to be king until GoW and the PS3 slim came out. X1 install base is smaller than PS4s but are around the same.
As for Nintendo, no one knows what a Wii U is. The 3ds on the other hand is popular with kids.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my comment I can see. Of course I meant sale of games, as in PS3 and X360 games sold. It would be funny though if Norway sold 1 million PS3 per year, it would mean that each household had 2 PS3 by the end of the generation, and more or less 4-6 consoles per household in total. Talk about gaming country #1. :P
BTW: I edited my post and wrote games now.

So God Of War III made PS3 sell more than 360? That's nice, Jamaicans have good tastes
