With this months NPD we did not get the following:
No Nintendo 50 million 3DS announcement nor any Xbox 10 million announcement (don't know if its still "close").

It shipped over 10 million at the beginning of December, I think MS announcing a 10 million sold through number with their NPD PR would only diminish the impact of their US win, since Sony announced 18.5 million mere weeks ago.

Doubt we will hear exact sold through numbers from MS for a long time, if ever. They will continue to announce shipped numbers to make sales sound better, which works given the amount of sites who report on sales inaccurately
Decent for the Wii U, but looks like 3DS sales really slumped this year. Cue the New 3DS...
The recent are good solid numbers for December but it shows that December isn't probably as big as it used to with Black Friday madness. Basically it's been the Wii U playing the margins game vs the other 2 playing the quantity game, particularly XBO. With amiibos selling like hotcakes, Nintendo have actually turned a point financially. Nice to see.

The lead is 500-600k. Only games that sold better on XB1 were CoD (exclusive deal) and Minecraft. I wouldn't call that "several".
Also, I'm pretty sure most publishers care about more than sales in the US. PS4 software sales are dominating XB1's worldwide. I can't remember one game which has sold more on XB1.

In which case Destiny sold more on PS4 due to a lot of bundles being sold.

VGC's numbers have the 3DS taking up ~95% of handheld sales this month and according to the pie chart the Vita seems to have way more than 5%, it looks closer to say, 15-18%. *EDIT* Looking back through the NPD thread on GAF someone calculated the angles on the HH graph and they put the Vita at 17.6%. |
Not as bad as expected I think, unless 3DS did a lot worse than VGC shows

Wohoo, go Vita lol! 600k smaller gap in the US than we have ;o

Hooray Vita undertracked!
That was all the good news I needed from this NPD.
