Forums - Nintendo - Puzzle & Dragons + P&D Super Mario Edition coming West- excited?

PaD gives away so many freebies these days that spending money isn't really required at all.

I would hope this release is priced accordingly.

Yet they still make €3.000.000 a day or something if I remember correctly, so obviously a lot of people are spending money on it. That, or it all comes from ad revenue? :p

More niche Japanese releases? When is the 3DS going to get some proper AAA games?

Actually I'm stoked for this. Is it getting a cart or just going to be an eShop game? I'll take either.

MH4U, MM 3D, Youkai Watch, Fire Emblem just to name 4 games releasing in the West 2015.

Wait, when did they say that the Fire Emblem game was coming out in 2015?

Just assuming, how much work can a 3DS game be that uses the same engine and re-uses the same assets of its predeccesor?

Even with that, 1 year is a short development cycle.  Though I do know that given the footage they showed, they clearly started a while ago.  However, you also said coming to the West 2015.  Sometimes it takes several months before a game gets localized.  It could easily be a Q2/3 2015 Japan title, and Q1/2 2016 for the West.

Do you have a link to that? Best I can find is that they made over $1B in revenue, but that was from almost a year ago. The game isn't at the same level as it once was, even though it's still fun to play. The estimated $2M-$3.75Mdaily revenue is also from a 2013 source.

Of course the game still makes money, just like the game I play which is Brave Frontier. Even if current content does not require them, the heavy spenders will always pay whatever is necessary to "catch em' all".

Those are the wonderful people who keep these games alive for the rest of us.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Meh. I wasn't impressed by PaD on mobile, so I don't care even with the Nintendo characters. Nintendo ought to try preloading it onto the New 3DS or something, though, the way the original Game Boy was bundled with Tetris.

Last FE game was 2012 in Japan, so that would be 2-3 years?

They haven't released any real sized games since 2013.

His comment was tongue in cheek, but I don't know if any of those count. Maybe MonHun.

All of them count. Or are you expecting games with the budget of Destiny on a handheld?

All the franchises have been well received by critics and they sold at least one million copies per entry (if we exclude fire emblem, at least 4 million copies lol)
