Forums - Nintendo - Why the Death of Nintendo Would Do Gaming Zero Favors

I don't want Nintendo dead, I want them to adapt and do better, and to stop thinking that the gaming world should revolve around them instead of the other way around.

I'm now filled with determination.

Anyone who wishes for the death of any company is just pathetic.

Never a truer word has been spoken.

But yet the Nintendo chants to burn are strong everywhere you look...

Well lots of people would lose their jobs if Nintendo went down and made software only but why would I care? If that gives me Nintendo games on other platforms I'm good!

While I agree that it would not benefit anybody, it also would not bring gaming to a screeching halt like some think. Still, better if they stick around.

Only fanboys or horrible individuals want companies to die or bad things to happen to them. I wouldn't miss Nintendo if they exited the market personally, but them going third party is for their own good, even if they don't get it at the moment.

They're one generation removed from one of the 3rd best selling console of all time and the best selling handheld... I think they'll be alright.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. It's incredibly biased.

Exactly this! It's almost like a parental advice bubblegamer you really nailed it!

Eventually Nintendo will understand why they have to go third party but the fact is that they have to do it right now. It's for their own good (my own good too!)

Thats pretty much the thing. People dont want Nintendo to go away. Just have the games on their console of choice. Its not really hate. Just jealousy

It's hilarious that ppl think it's for their own good. You do know Nintendo is worth 18 BILLION Dollars right (WORTH MORE THAN SONY w/ a FAILING console. Article here http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Nintendo-Now-Worth-More-Than-Sony-61509.html )? Also the best selling  8th generation gaming device STILL belongs to Nintendo (Nintendo 3DS?). And the fact that they WILL LOSE PROFIT if they only sells GAMES instead of consoles? Yeah, makes PERFECT sense... o.O

Only reason why people would say the 3DS is doing so bad is because it's predecessor did LEGENDARY (The OG Nintendo DS). Even with a slow start the 3DS is at 50 million sold and counting. In example the Gameboy Advance has 88.31 million sold and I see no one writing it off as a failure. I believe with the NEW 3DS  coming out it could reach the GBA numbers or at least come close to it.
