Yes i expect it outdo the PS3 when all is said and done. Great performance without noteworthy japanese games so far.

You forgot Dragon quest heroes, that in my opinion could push very well PS4 in Japan.

PS4 will have bigger games in 2nd year then the PS3 managed. Dragon Quest Heroes, Persona 5, Final Fantasy Type 0, (probs)Final Fantasy XV, Metal Gear Solid 5, Tekken 7, Street Fighter V, Bloodborne, Gundam, Deep Down. More games we don't know about yet.

Now not all are exclusives and FFXV may be 2016 (unlikely), but I think PS4 will benefit from the games bigger in general for japans market. In the same timeframe the PS3 received MSG4 and little else of note (correct me if I'm wrong).

Part of the PS3's underperformance in Japan is that few of its games really clicked with the market. PS4 started a bit slow, but it seems more big japanese devs are playing their hands earlier and I suspect putting some emphasis back on consoles versus handheld space.

I thought BS but then I remembered that KH isn't Final Fantasy. A 2-3 year development cycle is actually resonable  given the artstyle, shorter length, formularity of its combat etc. The guy (goofy), said they've been recording for the last few years. My brain says its 2016 because they're not releasing FFXV and KH3 in the same quarter but I would love for Square Enix to pull a surprise on everyone

Everything else is a given and disgaea bundle would be a waste of packaging.

It doesn't matter much. I know PS4 had a bigger launch week because it didn't have the same kind of shortages PS3 did. But PS3 had a steady flow of shipments during the holiday so people who couldn't buy it in the first week bought it during the next few weeks. In the end it evens out.
