edit: Actually i'll agree that Tetris is probably the best selling game of all time. But if it wasn't for that then it would be Wii Sports.

I back this. Counting all  console, computer and mobile releases, digital and retail sales, Tetris is  probably the best seller of all time

Oh yes, this thread is alive again!

Now we'll see again people trying to decide which game is the best selling one, and how many of them don't count because of reasons! It's a christmas miracle!

The funniest thing is that the same people who would go out of the way to dismiss Wii Sports because "it's bundled" also tend to say that all 2D Mario games are the same... and based on this reasoning alone, Mario is the best-selling retail game of all time. :P

Except that it isn't, and this is a fact.

But lets not go through the debate of whether we should exclude certain games or not, it's a very impressive number. I do think the game is a bit overhyped and overrated, but it's basically the video game equivalent of a big hollywood action movie and it's fun to play.

Mostly I'm curious now how much GTA VI will sell. Can it outsell V?
